well .. here goes .. hope u can understand my explaination .. not really good at teaching ppl ...

i assume u havent touch any settings at external gps ... if u havent then good ... let it be ... open mapking program (i assume u use r12) ... after it loads .. go to tools ... then more ... then go to options ... down there got GPS tab ... open it ... for mine ... i select by user ...the settings there are com4 ... 57600 baudrate .. and gps signal .. normal ... then push the button search gps .. it will search in a minute or so .. then it will tell u whether it can detect the gps or not ... if it says gps found then good ... just ok to exit ...now i assume ur at the main window of the mapking program .... down there there should be a "gps" button with a picture of a satellite .. tap there and now the screen chance edi ... tap at the top side of the screen and it will bring u out to the menu ... normally i will tap at the GPS status to view the current status .. here is the pain part .. u have to wait to lock to a satellite .. not sure how long .. depends on ur location n so ... after it lock then u can use edi la ... well .. hope u can understand n good luck ...

good day guys..
i'm planning to get my kaiser soon..
but i was wondering, since PC fair is around the corner, should i wait for the pc?  because i know normally during the pc fair, they will either drop the price a little, or more freebies..
any advise guys?
*
just look around n look for the best bargain .. usually price should be around the same ... only diff in freebies ... thumbup.gif

Got my TyTN II last week, RM3150 for PDA + 2GB + Bluetooth + Car Charger + Screen Protector. Not the best deal, but I wasn't really shopping around much. So far it's been excellent; can't find anything bad to say about it smile.gif

What you guys say about PDAs is correct... once you go PDA, you never go back (my last phone is an N70). Had a good laugh comparing it to my friend's brand new N95 8GB... was going on and on about how powerful it was; then I fired up Skyforce Reloaded and then PocketSNES and he quickly quieted down, LOL.

Quick question for you sifus here... anyone with a TyTN II or similar manage to log on to the Maxis WAP Portal? I followed all the directions to set it up but the website refuses to load... I still have three subscribed Maxis TV channels, darn it sad.gif
*
not the best deal ? who u kidding .... ok wut for that price .. got extra bluetooth n car charger summore ... for less few rm than usual price ... good catch there bro! icon_rolleyes.gif
urmm .. regarding cannot access the wap portal .. how do u set the connection at 1st ey ? auto izzit ? like mine auto .. let the phone search for it then select the network ... but i think u can change the prefered network ... forgot di where it at ... sweat.gif ... try to change that and see ...

Yesterday I went to Aeon Bkt Tinggi, Klang and at Networld.com.my shop, I asked for the price of HTC Tytn II. I was quoted RM3,199 with free software and free service whenever my unit screws up, reformat, load new software, load latest Map King, etc.

Since I am quite outdated with PDA stuff, I just want to ask if it's a good price and also will there be any upcoming models similar to this / better.
*
the price is around there ... standard package ... everything in the box .. pda, manual, cd, extra stylus, charger, usb cable, leather pouch + 2gb microSD + bluetooth headset ... dunno if in lowyat/kl area can get cheaper ... but add tol + fuel ... same also rite ... sweat.gif

pennywise ... AFAIK ... dopod 838 pro is using Windows Mobile 5 ... i think those kinda problem only apply when they upgrade to the Windows Mobile 6 ROM ... tytn ii out of the box is using Windows Mobile 6 ... so i dont think u need to worry .... so far mine is working without problem ... well .. sometimes u need to restart the pda once in a while ... just in case ...

hi jmunchar,

my tytn surely have problem with spb, and for the matter of fact, even my former zinc have almost the same problem when i install spb mobile shell into it ... how about yours?

wow .. the price is so cheap now .. difference is just a week .. even less ..

hey guys and gals .. a T/T session for users seems like a very good idea .. to exchange info and share softwares too ..

i would propose any Starbucks in PJ area ... how??

does you guys experience slow or lagging with your tytn?

regards

Added on December 9, 2007, 9:29 amby the way guys ..

what is the factory set password for i-tech bluetooth? i-clip

thanks
*
nop ... no lagging at all ... have u properly closed all the application that u have opened ? ... check because just tap the "X" button once wont closed it instantly you know ... tap at the top right ... next to battery and top of the clock ... there it should list the application that still running at the background ... closed it then restart ur phone ... see any faster or not .. if not .... check for the applications that u dont use .. then uninstall it ...

anyway .. not sure about other models of i-tech .. my r35 default passcode is 8888 ...

Just want to check with you guys regarding the functionality of the GPS function with the latest Map-King map... How accurate is it?

Added on December 11, 2007, 2:00 amAlso, what else are there in the standard package?
*
not that accurate ... depend on the map u got ... like mine a few places not updated ... summore the refresh rate is not that good ... esp when driving a bit fast...

standard package ? u mean inside the box or what ? .. inside the box .. u will have the pda itself .. manual ..cd ... extra stylus ... leather case ... warranty card .. charger .. usb cable for connecting to pc ...and ... screen protector .. freebies that u might get ... 2gb microSD card + bluetooth ... if ur lucky maybe can get another screen protector .. coz the ori one sux .. or maybe got extra leather case or what so ever. . depends on the shop ... sweat.gif
