wonder if any fast and furious driver or motorcyclist have attempted to drive/ride round Peninsular Malaysia covering all 11 states in 24 hours.

An attempt was made by 2 senior citizens on 18.8.18.
11 States in Peninsular Malaysia. 1732 kilometres.
Target : 24 hours. Actual : 27 hours.
9 fuel stops. 2 rest stops.
Bikes : KTM 690 Duke and CMC400 XY.

24 hours is possible if you go on a normal day (not school holidays), minimise fuel stops and no rain.

Did they explain in detail any breakdowns/repairs that needed to be made during the journey?

Hmmm, one roda a CMC400...I have my doubts but the ride could confirm the reliability of the bike.

If I'm not wrong, the UK distributors for the company (Mash Motorcycles) which makes the CMC400 did take some of their 250cc models on a tour around Europe. Really good publicity and good way to prove that the bikes are reliable IMO. I wonder why no one does this in Malaysia.

Actually, you're right. It is quite normal for bike and car companies to loan out long-term test bikes or cars (in US and Europe anyway) and in this way, the tester can detail out the ownership costs and also if there are potential issues that new owners need to look out for. Granted, there is no perfect machine but a long tern loaner will actually help the brand get better a reputation while improving public perception as well. On the flipside of the coin, if there are issues, the local distributors can always escalate it to their principals for noting and who knows...perhaps issue some running changes to improve the product.

Both the bikes were standard models with no mods.
The usual engine oil n filter change before the ride.
Except for the two rest stops (75 minutes total) n fuel stops averaging 15-20 minutes each, both bikes ran flawlessly for the entire trip of 27 hours straight.
Yes, the CMC not only completed the ride trouble free, but also kept up with the KTM all the way.

+++++++++++

Might as well you do it and get certified.

Many done it in Malaysia even with stock HD 48.. (most uncomfortable bike ever)
