I would like to use this thread for discussion about the ICT arm of Petronas, Petronas ICT. It was previously known as iPerintis before 2013.

All are welcome to discuss what is the environment within Pet ICT today. And what sort of career path they offer to IT graduates and senior workers in IT field.

If I'm not mistaken they were once located at Menara Perak, not sure if it's still based there. But they have the core offices at ExxonMobil Tower now.

Previously I heard there was a department on SAP as Petronas used some SAP products for their internal operations, so PetICT I supposed was tasked to maintain and overlook the infrastructure.

Hows the environment like?

Do they have programmer teams?

- Do they follow the same remuneration scheme and job grades as Petronas itself?
Same perks with parent Petronas?

- Are there many iPerintis folks who remain with PetICT today? Because as I look back, there were ample iPerintis discussions back in the past on Lowyat, but nobody discusses Pet-ICT nowadays.

- Do senior executives have greater autonomy than junior execs? How do you describe their 'freedom' or autonomy.

- A lot of 'redtape' to get things done? Protocol? Paperwork, approvals, etc.

- A lot of training provided?

- I believe their technologies are quite niche and vendor-specific correct? It's not like those IT houses that churn out apps, webpages, using PHP, Java, .NET.

- How many years does it take for Senior Exec to be promoted to Manager level?

- I noticed they advertised a lot of Manager posts on jobstreet. Meaning that they hire managers externally on equal basis with say internal promotion?

- Are their Contract positions mostly converted to Permanent at the end of contract? Will they be easily retrenched during oil volatile prices?

- Is the office now only at Exxon Tower? The office in Menara Perak, etc still functioning today?

Is OpenText department good?
They do stuff like SAP?

Do they blacklist you in future if you reject their offer?

What are some of the perks of being with Pet Ict?

And now after becoming Petronas Group Digital, what has changed?
