Hi guys just wanna share my experience on cancelling my mastercard. I asked Maybank FB about cancellation, after request for my name, IC and phone number, they contact me immediately at 11.30pm. I ask the guy can I cancel the card due to SST and he straight done it for me after confirming my details. My card was applied and approved at end of December 2018. Kudos to Maybank service rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Set as favourite, pay using app. It doesn't even require a minute of your time.

Ah good advice! Never think of it hahah thanks bro! I was using online maybank2u yesterday that's why I find it troublesome.

You can schedule the payment to take place on weekends in M2U.

Yup, date is all you need to ensure that the payment takes place on a weekend right?
*
Okay now I understand your statement... I thought you mean every month it will automatically find the first weekend...

If quoted in MYR currency, AmEx via PayPal will not work.

Just now when I ask Maybank FB about can the cash rebate and point valid for paypal purchase thru AMEX card? This is their reply...

"Thank you for referring to us. Yes. You will earn the points for the transaction every day and the cash rebate for any transaction performed on weekend (Saturday and Sunday)."

definitely. what we are saying is you can't use amex via paypal to pay in ringgit and certain foreign currency.

Ah i get it now...so in another words, there are no way using AMEX card to get point and cashback for train tickets?

Maybank FB replied me this

"Please be informed that the cash back will be rewarded based on the posting date and not the transaction date. Generally advisable to use the Amex card on weekend for retail charges for you to have higher chances to get rewards. Usually most of the online transaction that being performed will charged (post) at least after 2-3 days or maximum up to 7 days."

So spending using Amex on weekend doesn't fully guarantee cashback?

I think the standard limitation that applies to all cards - if the payment gateway is in a country with local time before or after the weekend here.

Example 1 : Payment gateway in New Zealand and transaction takes place on Sunday 9pm 1msia time. Gateway's local time is Monday.
Example 2 : Payment gateway in UK and transaction takes place on Sat 3am 1msia time. Gateway's local time is still Friday.

Sorry I still a bit blur...if lets say we make transaction at UK, the cashback depends on UK weekend or Malaysia weekend?

Definitely, I was there years back and using AMEX Charge Card (company issues). Recent travels company no longer issue card so... use own cards to rack points haha!

Just noticed my credit card anniversary is next month, cancelled the Visa Platinum. Stated due to SST, then no further questions asked  thumbup.gif

Ah sorry for the late reply. I just realized that there is an extra 2.5% charge on top of the transaction? Meaning if my hotel stay is 1k euro i will have to pay 1k euro + 25 euro + MBB conversion rate?
