Got good got bad, bad thing is you need data always on to receive the notification and good thing is even though u have bad signal or at offshore whereby no signal at all, u still can receive the notification through WiFi

Anyway people seldom using SMS nowadays and bank also want to cut cost
*
It is bad when we go to overseas. For those who don't have data roaming.

Do we get charged sms roaming charges if we get sms notification from bank when we are overseas?
*
No. It is free.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Jul 17 2019, 09:12 AM)
nowadays buying local sim with unlimited data is a trend, i'm sure you will do the same as the cost is a lot cheaper than using own sim with data roaming
*
Need to spend additional money for the sim card.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Jul 17 2019, 02:50 PM)
yeah i regret installing the app now. I rarely use it.
Anyone know the process to "remove" the app use from Maybank records so that I can continue getting sms.
*
Me too. I downloaded the app before but uninstalled it few months ago. Worry that cannot get Sms transaction. 🙄

Hi all, apologies in advance if I stray away from main topic.

Understand that Maybank CC no longer give pts/cash back for e-wallet top up is this true?

If yes, what cards have you all substituted to?
*
I reduce usage of Ewallet. Back to pre-ewallet era, use credit card directly.

You may refer to these 2 threads.

Hi guys, as I know, E-Wallets reload does not entitle the weekend 5% cashback. How about BigPay card reload? Technically it's a prepaid card, so was wondering if anyone try reloading it on weekends and still get to enjoy the 5% cashback? Thanks in advance!
*
Bigpay doesn't support Amex. I tried to top up bigpay by using Barcelona visa on 31/8, no longer get cashback.

Amex does not offer currency conversion.

I’ve just used PayPay-Amex to pay for Book Depository (subsidiary of Amazon). 5% discount should be able to offset the currency markup.
*
Bookdepository accepts Amex, you do not need to use PayPal.

Book Depository accepts Master/Visa in RM. Previously, all my purchases are paid in RM. Today I’m doing an experiment by PayPal-Amex in USD. I know they accept Amex directly but must be in USD.
*
I managed to pay with Amex by using RM. It was one year ago. Don't know whether they change rules.

that I'm not sure, but the website shows the price in RM already

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Sep 28 2019, 11:45 PM)
why choose RM?

always paid by foreign currency as bank only charge at most 2.5% while foreign merchant might charge additional 3~5% from actual conversion rate...
*
It depends on merchants.
From my experience, Agoda and Bookdepository added about 1% conversion rate. I don't know about other merchants.

No cashback for top up GrabPay.

I had an order cancelled from shopee on 9.9 but shopee still refuses to refund me the money. is it possible to open a dispute with maybank to get back the money?
*
You may try.
Alternatively, you can put it on social media. Normally they will response fast.

I have a transaction Rm27 at Agoda, transaction date 5/10/19, posting date 7/10/19.

Refund from Agoda, transaction date 7/10/19, posting date 9/10/19.
I notice that 5*treatpoints (135 points) were deducted.

Will I receive 5% cashback? Anyone got experience?

I have difficuties spending AMEX to meet RM1000 monthly.

I will not spend RM1000 in order to get RM50. I spend as needed. I use Amex for petrol and grocery during weekend normally.
