that's my understanding too, but some forumers argued that if you don't activate the card, you don't have statement and thus sst cant be charged. however, as far as i know, any outstanding will continue to appear in ur ccris even if you don't have any statements.

once u start asking how high the interest rate in case of late payment, clearly you are not advised to own credit cards.  whistling.gif

actually i'm just curious what is the main difference between amex and master/ visa.

last time used to hear that many merchants don't accept amex compare with master/ visa.

also notice amex not as popular as master/ visa.

am planning to change to this maybank 2 card promo since they email me this offer.

don't want to keep my current citi card as every year i have to call them to waive the annual fees despite me being a good paymaster.

Google is your best friend to get more info.
Generally, Visa/MC charge lower fee for merchant when using their service.
Amex charge higher fee, hence less merchant signing up for their service.
However, Amex is lowering their fee nowadays, and it has getting more popular, especially in US.

In short, as a consumer, less places are accepting Amex.
Amex gives better return compare to Visa/MC.
For those places accepting Amex, go for it.
Those not accepting, use your Visa/MC (that's why Maybank give you 2 cards).
Premium business always accept Amex (ie. branded outlets, >4-star hotel).

Additional info, there are Amex Charge Card and Credit Card.
Maybank 2 card belongs to Credit Card.
You can search for their charge card and compare the privileges.

Last but not least, always settle all your monthly billing and won't bother of late payment fee.

Any idea whether the 0% 12 months BT with Maybank has reached the max? Has anyone seen the announcement on the website?
Rather risky if it's all depleted, will get charged 3% upfront interest and not waivable.

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p.../PRO-Promotions
https://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/BT010317_tnc.pdf
vii. *The allocated fund for the 3% waiver is only up to RM7.2M (RM240M total Balance
Transfer amount) during campaign period. The campaign will be automatically stop
upon fund has fully depleted (Subject to General Terms and Condition Clause No.9,
Maybank will notify by posting on the Website www.maybank2u.com or by any other
mode that Maybank shall deem fit)

240M/50K = 4800 users, OR more users if most just transfer between minimum 1k to 50k max

I did a number of transaction already this month. It will reset next month? I can pay again?

TNB, there is a limit.

it was reported back in 2015. either you hit the transaction count or total amount.

For my Maybank 2 cards, I never activated the mastercard, so do you guys think SST won't be charged for that card? Of course, I activated the AMEX and have been using it for the past 1 year.

2 school of thoughts. one says will be charged on anniversary as long as approved. another will say, not activated therefore no statement and can't charge sst. but as far as i know, you can still be charged, and outstanding will be shown on your ccris. still a grey area here but someone did mention CS said it's charged on approval not activation.

Not sure if any of you experienced this but I my transfer to my M2 Amex wasn't reflected in M2U even though there's a deduction in my savings account.

Had a short DM with Maybank on Twitter & they said they're aware of this problem & are currently working to solve this.

To those of you with no budget tracking, please take note or else you'll be transferring more than required for your Amex CC repayment.
