only a debit card.....and basically no reward, unless u want to use in china, otherwise no one will use union pay in local

UOB (Singapore) already launched Unionpay CC in Singapore, giving 2% rebate.
I won't surprise UOB Malaysia or any local banks in Malaysia (except Maybank) may issue Unionpay CC soon.

Maybank already got exclusive franchise for Amex in Malaysia, so only Maybank is willing to burn money to promote Amex.
I don't think Maybank is interested to promote Unionpay in Malaysia, unless they are eyeing to open more branches in China.

No need to try.
Unless MBB makes an official statement over the support of AMEX contactless, high chance that it will fail as of current stage.

so sad even Dragon-i dont accept Amex now and so many restaurants.

Guess to hit Rm50 cashback, for me I left with departmental stores, supermarkets and petrol.

Yes. That is the case. Off topic but relevant, that is why i go to din tai fung, taste better and nicer and accept amex.

Dont forget you can pay your bills with amex too.

But the TP is just 1x not 5x.

for anyone traveling to South Korea or has plans to:

AMEX is widely accepted in Korea, thumbup.gif as they're registered as Samsung card payment processor.
Samsung card is like everyday card for most Korean, thus their merchants can be found in any nook and cranny.

good way to rack up TP!

my TP solely from AMEX spending since October whistling.gif

the extra charges (currency exchange + overseas charges) aren't too bad as well. My transactions averaged 2.63% on top of the transacted amount.

Well done. The benefits of using an American Express are well worth it. If I redeem for airline miles (probably everyone does this), my cashback rate is around 18%, so that rate is negligible.

Just need to make sure the transaction date recorded by Amex (NZ) is either Sat/Sun.
I tried in London (GMT+0) on a Sunday night (it was a Monday morning in Malaysia), I did get the weekend rebate.

All of the time Amex cash back I always max (RM50) per month.

Should I continue using it for the rest of the month for the 5x TreatsPoints ? is it worth it when exchange for AEON cash vouchers? I remember it's like 2% if calculated as cash vouchers
