Bills at those stores usually cash only.

Only exception that I'm aware of was MyNews where you could topup their app with CC then pay bill. That also stopped since March 2024.

Has anyone recently used Maybank 2 Card Amex, to pay for the purchase of a Touch 'n Go physical card on weekend in TnG Hub in NU Sentral, and obtained 5% cashback?

Maybank sent sms and email to remind on the payment due while it is not even beyond the payment due date for the credit card bill. Is it normal?

They had been doing this recently only in less than 1 year if remembered correctly.

Yes. I do get it too but I only receive SMS.

They informed one day before/on due date using sms and email which I find it ridiculous.

Calls? My godness. Seems like nowadays banks are desperate. This has never been the practice for the past 20 years.

To be honest, they earn more if you don’t pay on time. So, it’s a courtesy gesture from them.

I think this is a good gesture by them since I may forgot to pay sometimes.

If you find it irritating then just pay earlier then.

If that’s the case it make even more no sense.

Majority of users will certainly pall bill in full one time. Those ppl they can earn interest or fee are minority.

Dun see a need to remind actually. I find it annoying. If it is a global requirement by bank Negara then I can understand but obviously this is only certain banks own practices.

Oh well. You will be surprised many still miss payments and don’t pay full every month. Again, we need to thank these users so that banks can offer more benefits for the cardholders.

Citation required. Banks don't operate loss-making business, and if they're giving good rewards for our CC spend, its because they're making more than that in interest/fees on others.

I'm actually surprised its not less than 55% considering relatively low wages here. I guess low wage earners tend not even to be able to get CC.

most annoying is Aeon, they call you when you pick up the call they hang up, more than 1 time a day and keep calling until you paid.

Probably the bad debts increase now? So they are getting more desperate in chasing the payments?

I do believe its just customer service. Us forgetting to pay is profit for them after all. But they also don't want us to cancel our cards in frustration.
