Q - Why doesn't my Zenfone Max Pro M1 detect my unifi WiFi connection? A - It's not a defect, the phone does not support dual band WiFi, i.e. it only supports the 2.4GHz band, and not the 5GHz band.
Q - Does the Zenfone Max Pro M1 support WiFi calls/VOLTE? A - Not at this moment. WhatsApp call is your best bet.
Q - The camera isn't up to par. Can I install GCam without rooting? A - Yes. Please click on this link and click here for the installation file (credit azhar75)
Q - Where do I find accessories for this phone? A - Finding it at retail stores is close to impossible. Your best bet would be online shopping platforms like Lazada, Lelong or Shopee. You may try CKYstore or forever.my
Q - Asus claims the phone to be pure Android. Is the phone part of the Android One program? A - No. Although the phone is suppose to be "pure" Android, there is still some bloatware present, especially if you have installed the latest update (OPM1.WW_Phone-15.2016.1808.323-20180813). You'll notice a Russain browser named YANDEX installed, along with another app called ATOK which is a Japanese language input app. To remove these without root, try this (credit to RokXIII)
Q - How do I clear the cache of my Max Pro M1? A - With your M1 switched off, long press/hold power and volume down buttons together. Release power button when phone vibrates and screen lights up. Release volume button when Asus logo appears. Phone will be in recovery mode now. Use volume buttons to scroll down to "wipe cache partition" and use power button to select that. It'll ask for confirmation. Use volume button to choose "Yes" and select with power button. It'll be done in less than 2 seconds. You can then choose to reboot or power down or other stuff (Credit to zenman)
Q - My battery has degraded badly and needs to be changed. Any alternatives out there? A - From Shopee Instructions: -

You are the lucky one, LOL. That's one is useless update.
It update the security patch to Aug 1. 318 has security dated May 1 (I think). So if security patch is important to you then go update. Else, don't really need to update as there are nothing much in terms of features or performance update.
You are the lucky one, LOL. That's one is useless update.
So if I skip this update, can I Update the next one in the future without installing this update manually? macam something wrong with my phone since I the only one don't get this update via ota.

Don't bother.
323 has been removed from the main firmware support page.
Yeah...what were they thinking adding Atok and Yandex. They want to make money off doing this as the phone itself is not making them money as they had to sell it cheap.
no root is needed. check on the latest posts in the link to get the command to remove ATOK, YANDEX, and YANDEX browser.
ahh, i used this when i first gotten my phone now, let me do it again

or Poco F1 6/64 rm1237 installment 12 mths (103.08)
Poco for me. After more than a month using this phone, my conclusion is besides the battery life, nothing else about the Zenfone Max Pro M1 is appealing (except the price, but that is if you bought the 3/32 one @ RM599)

The performance over price for this phone is worth it. Still can play lots of games without issues.

It seems this method doesn't really remove the apps but completely disables them and denies them data/playstore access. The storage space used remains the same and the only real improvement is freer RAM - so they say.
Still, I think it's a good idea, at least where memory and/or data/power usage is concerned. A good way to determine if this really works is to check storage space before and after app deletion.
For now, I'm hoping Asus will come to their sense and wipe out the damned bloatware with the next OTA update. If not, the no root method is the way to go.

From wut ive read there not much impression on the PocoF1 camera side probably the Note 5 Ai got a better pictures . The night outdoor alot of noise .
The pro side for PocoF1 will be a good for gaming , 10 to 12 SOT and might be less on gaming SOT .
Yeah the early reviews of the Poco camera says it's a little hit and miss, but for what you're getting at that price, everyone seems to be letting that pass
I have removed Atok but the icon is still there. However, if I try to run it, I will get error. So means it is already removed.
Might help if you force stop and uninstall it manually first - via Settings -> Apps while first clearing the cache and app data, before using the adb method.
Or else, rebooting your phone might help with losing the icon.

Very good waze consume battery alot less compared to my Asus selfie zd551kl 30% per hour 💆 2 hours 60% drained
My zd551kl SD615 3gb/32gb + 64gb Sdcard serve me very well, the cons will be the battery backup, camera on par for 2018, abit lag on focus night-time dimmed area, alot of crapware by Asus, laggy sometime on daily use , need to clean the cache if i browse alot aka web, lazada, shoopee etc.
Anybody have idea how it will be at 9/9 Lazada flash sale ? I mean how much a 3gb/32gb price they selling or a 4gb/64gb price tag ?
I think 599 is probably the lowest they'll go for the 3/32 one but there'll be loads of vouchers available for download. It's a matter of getting the maximum discount voucher that would be entitled for it.

Might be they will cutt the price coz its a grand sales , remember they used to offer rm1 last time , no idea how many unit it was probably 10 units or something at last lol 😂
It was just like a 5 sec refreshing the Lazada page and instantly sold out , crapppppppppp i felt like crying lolllllll

Yes, if not mistaken you can't use installments if you already applied a voucher.
350 off.... Bro, we can get Pocophone di...
Poco 6gb/128gb rm1428 - rm350 = rm1078 (if Poco i want this - no need to buy sd-card, can use 2 sims only) Poco 6gb/64gb rm1237 - rm350 = rm887 (64gb considered too small for me storage need to use sd-card and cant use 2 sims if use sd-card) M1 6gb/64gb rm999 - rm350 = rm649 (can be use sd-card + 2 sims) independent slot, no hyrib aka no share
rm649 will be less interest if 1 pay rm100 per month w/o installment
PocoF1 rm1078 if i pay rm100 per month w/o installment cryy cryyy

Again bro, no installments for vouchers.
So, based on my calculations, M1 6GB/64GB will be RM166.50 x 6 months, POCO 6/64 will be 206.17 x 6 or 103.08 x 12 months.

btw its good to be true if applicable to all set in the store
Have you really test-drive the M1 at nearby kiosk? It's better to get first impressions thought before getting the M1.
I know myself during the launching event. Even though it was a short 30 minutes test-drive, it knew this M1 is the right investment to fulfill the needs for a minimum of 2 years ownership...

For < RM599, it is for those potential owners looking for a backup phone especially when traveling a lot... The true triple slots for SIMs and microSD card is a win...

Not gonna hold my breath ... LOL... Let's assume Asus Global will launch sub-brand models just like the Xiaomi-POCO, Huawei-Honor, etc.
Can we have Asus-ALPHA as the sub-brand name...? Alpha as the challenger or fighter to very fierce, harsh and unforgiving world of mobile industry...the survivor is Alpha...

No never test the unit before but i have a trust on Asus mobile coz they sturdy, not easy to get broken coz my bro Asus Laser dropped many time and still good till now, and Asus focus sales on india, they knew Indian people kind of tough etc , so they make the mobile material abit harden, well the circuit board and layer is very sensitif tho .
Basicly i need a good battery backup aka SOT, GPS, GAMING, radio, gyro, a good camera, loud speaker & equalizer for ear pieces.
MhL, & aptX Bluetooth, IR, NFC should be a bonus lol
M1 3gb/32gb rm599 is a beast, i wish that 4gb/64gb will be less then the currently offers.
I just wait the 9/9 promos, will see a big hope probably

Pocophone F1 and ZFMPM1 both are totally different beasts.
If you run loads of apps, multitask and game occasionally then defiantly the Pocophone is a no brainer. The M1 is a Mid-ranger with a SD636 and simply pales in direct comparison to the SD845 especially if you plan to run 3D intensive apps or games.

I think that's unlikely to happen, considering the Zenfone 5z is already priced very close to a midrange phone

I think right now if you have a budget of RM1200 for a phone, the Pocophone is a no brainer period. Unless you can't stand MIUI

Yeah... This McD ceiling lights are full of "warm" yellow lights... The other cams "denies" the yellow hue and replaced it with amber/brownish lights instead... The Stock HDR preserve this yellow lights flooded the objects in this area...
Summore, the main object at the centre is those two hanging deco lights... Only Stock HDR captured the correct colour & contrast compared to the rest...

Try to find a used 4gb of the M1. There should be people selling to jump to Pocophone ship.

Americans never bother mid-ranger...thanks to Mr. Timmy for setting this mindset... LOL...
Because dollar for dollar, USD300 is nothing to them. So they might as well get those flagship phones. Plus no China brand has really penetrated into US except for Huawei and Vivo/Oppo.
Guys, how do I remove the clock from the lock screen?
I already have an xperia style digital clock on my home screen and I don't need another one on my lock screen (I also wear a cheap G-Shock that tells me the time without having to tap on my phone..LOL!).
Every time I try to change the lock screen type from clock to photo frame/table (to match my pitch black wallpaper app), I get the "app fails" notification or some kinda message to that effect. I even tried uninstalling the pitch black wallpaper app temporarily but the option to remove the lock screen clock and replace it with a simple deep black HD image doesn't work. I even turned the screen saver off but the damn clock refuses to get off the lock screen.
Maybe 11.11 or 12.12 or maybe a used one under 1k, Haha..
To be honest, I'm happy to keep my M1. I've been using the Note 9 for the past 5 days and I miss my M1's battery life
Note 9 and M1's battery life really got so much difference ? Anyway I bought M1 because of the following points :
1) Value for money 2) 5000 mAH battery 3) 2 sim cards slot and 1 independent memory card slot. 4) Screen looks more vibrant than RN5. ( because I compare them side by side on the spot ) 😀

Yes, massive difference. I bought the M1 for the same reasons 1 and 2 and also their so-called Stock Android

4000 mAH and 5000 mAH battery life, care to elaborate in term of SoT ?
That’s an unachievable dream, unless you loop a video for 10 hours straight or something, haha.
Battery drain during standby is disappointing.
Try Naptime, bro. I guarantee you'll not be disappointed. I confirmed the deep sleep with GSam battery monitor. It really does make a difference to standby drain with Aggressive Doze. Compared it with Greenify's AD and found Naptime performed much better.
Btw, you guys see any improvement with the auto brightness issue with this latest update?

Nope. No root required. Just need to input 2 adb commands via PC, after enabling developer options and USB debugging. The steps and commands are described on the site itself.
Easy peasy.

Guide to installing and running Naptime, with Aggressive Doze for great standby time (for those who don't know it already) - C & P from XDA.
You'll first need to download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot on your PC, from here.
Download and install Naptime on your phone but don't open the app (because it would be pointless to do so, at this point).
You'll then need to enable Developer options on your phone like so.
When you've done that, access developer options and enable USB debugging. Connect your phone to your PC and call up Minimal adb.
Type in "adb devices" (without quotes) and your device's serial number should be displayed on the adb UI. You'll now need to input the 2 commands found on Naptime's PS page.
'Q: Rootless mode? To use Naptime's features without Root you need to grant it DUMP permission via ADB on your computer by executing this command:
adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.DUMP
You also need to grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission:
adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
After these two permissions are granted you'll be able to use Naptime freely.'
You can now exit adb and disconnect your phone from your PC. Next, you can disable USB debugging and exit or turn off Developer options.
Done. Launch Naptime and check it out. I recommend staying with the default settings. You'll also need to whitelist Naptime at the battery optimisation section of settings. Naptime will tell you how.
I suggest installing a battery monitor like GSam to view deep sleep frequencies both before AND after installing Naptime.

6/64 for RM899 on 9.9. and you may also get an additional RM50 off with a voucher!
rm849 with voucher use , and cant use installment ehh ?
there a review said that the camera 16mp+5mp of 6gb/64gb (their 4gb/64gb & 3gb/32gb has same camera setup probably) was better compared to the 13mp+5mp .
rm849 for sd636/adreno509/6gb+64gb it's still expensive for me, adreno509 cant full utilize the 6gb ram coz the graphic is capped, but the sd636 is good , such a waste on graphic side
any better choice for rm850 - rm900 ? sd660/adreno512 price range at rm1k

rm849 for sd636/adreno509/6gb+64gb it's still expensive for me, adreno509 cant full utilize the 6gb ram coz the graphic is capped, but the sd636 is good , such a waste on graphic side
any better choice for rm850 - rm900 ? sd660/adreno512 price range at rm1k
Would you be so kind as to shed some light on what do you mean by "the graphic is capped"? Thank you in advance.

looks like the latest firmware consuming more battery than usual.. on the previous firmware, 100% could easily last at least 2.5 or 3 days. now cannot even last for 2 days...
checked on the stock battery usage, it stated System consuming 68%, follow by App 14%. already wipe the partition after updated to latest firmware.

anyone encountered the same issue?
I believe it's due to VoLTE implementation in the latest OTA. Try to switch to 3G only to see positive effects.
Once reaching RM1K, better all out for Poco UFS 2.1 64GB...its cam is IMX363 leyyyyy...
My bro has just bought the Honor Play 4g/64gb Limited cover rm1299 free ipega bluetooth controller, its on par w. Sd835 & sd845 , he playing pubg right now and learning to use the controller .

If someone looking forward to give a girl or daughter a new phone for present Vivo 11 will be a perfect choice very slim and sexy & elegant looking phone
You got M1, NOTE 9 and still want to buy Poco? Used M1 sell below 500 more reasonable.
Yeah, just to try and see what the fuss is all about, haha. Anyways, the plan is for the Poco to replace the M1 and the next gen iPhone to replace the Note 9. I try to keep only two phones at any one time, not like azhar75 and his MADU EMPAT
Upgraded to latest firmware 326 and updated Magisk to 17.1.
I have to say, I am impressed by the improved fingerprint detection. However, I also suspect that it is the one causing battery drain as reported by someone here. I will monitor the battery drain and report later.
Ordered around 1 am during the 9.9 flash sale and received it yesterday in the evening. I know many people have been complaining about the lack of discounts on lazada but their efficiency together with asus for this product was on point!
Phone came with lots of protective bubble wrap and air pouches, hence even the box was in immaculate condition
Im gonna place order soon for this phone soon. Any problem so far for this phone? Mainly for gaming. ANything i need to take note?
Sorry bro, I don't game, maybe someone else can assist? But if you search on YouTube, you'll see plenty of people not having much problems with games on this phone due to the SD636 processor. Maybe go for 4GB or 6GB RAM to be safe.

Maybe the fingerprint is in standby mode all the way, thus it is more responsive

Any phones can gaming... it's which game title that is important...some games are not well optimised for certain SoC and GPU... But UFS 2.1 is definitely hiccup free to load and run the game no matter how heavy the game is....
If iPhone X "R"etarded has dual SIM (physical & eSIM), and if our primitive local Telco supports eSIM, looks like finally I'll be inside Mr. Timmy's cruise ship...LOL...

Well, maxis has it, but not sure if it'll support iPhone Xr... which will be the one I'm eyeing as well
updated the phone today and now cannot on WiFI and cannot detect SIM...... anybody face the same ?
***update. DID a hard reset, now its working fine..
This android software is very bad, i wonder why so many issue when its near stock...
Mine works fine. But I use TWRP to patch the full firmware. After that re-apply the root and camera2api. All works fine. This firmware 326 is quite good. Felt the UI to be smoother but I think it's just me.
Thanks for the input. Most of the apps listed does not edit the existing stock nav bar.Just surprise that Asus did not include this basis setting into it.

Anyone experienced this: Ringtone still ringing in dnd mode Ringtone no sound suddenly even not in dnd mode Wifi on and off even within proximity Slow mobile data.
None of the above happened to my phone.Maybe you got a lemon unit ?

I've experienced none of the above. Best get your unit checked at a service centre.
facing 2 frustating issue. 1) gps works normally when you start to drive. after driving like 3 minutes, gps signal lost and always show searching for gps. after driving for another 10 minutes, it came back . then 3 minutes later, lost signal again, keeps going on and on everytime.
check with all the gps app and fixes app on play store, cant find any problem.
2) when you are playing games on ur phone, whenever there is a phone call coming in, the phone will lose mobile internet for one minute, whether you accept the call or decline thecall or simply ignore the call.

is it normal?
1) Seems like issue with the antenna on your phone. Probably fault antenna. Get warranty for it.
2) If not mistaken, this is common issue with non LTE broadband. 3G will have this kind of issue on all phones.
Has anyone used the Shopback aka Shopfest app through Lazada or Shoope etc ?
How does actually the cashback worked ? Crap need more info about it
I've been camping with ShopBack & MilkADeal since 2014...
All I can say is they are not like in the early years... The cashback rate has been reduced a lot especially for electronics items... Last time was 9% cashback but now only 1%...
Last time can create many dupe accounts but now they can detect these dupe accounts & block the account from getting cashback...
So, you can try opening a new account using my referral link in order to get ur 1st RM5 cashback after ur 1st purchase.
The cashback works "more or less" as below:
1) Create a ShopBack account via my referral link (https://www.shopback.my/?raf=hThTep). 2) Launch ShopBack app and login to your account. 3) Tap on the desired service (eg. Lazada). 4) Lazada app will be launched automatically. 5) Purchase the item(s) in the Lazada app as usual. 6) Within 2 days, we can see the cashback amount in our ShopBack account. 7) But the cashback can only be redeemed after 120 days and accumulating above RM10. The redeem amount will be transferred directly to our savings account that we register in the ShopBack settings.

Like our bro mentioned above, the cash back on electronics have been substantially reduced these days so much so I hardly use it unless I'm buying something over RM1000 or more. Using it for travel like hotel bookings is still OK, about 6% to 9% rebate. Getting the payout though is an exercise in patience.
... By the way have you gotten your replacement phone from Lazada yet?
Not yet... Someone in NinjaVan needs to be sacked... The parcel seems to be "lost"... But after I showed all the evidence to Laz, only yesterday the parcel reached at Lazada warehouse.
The problem when returning thru NinjaVan is that at the "Return Label" form, it clearly stated what is the item in the parcel. So, if anyone sees this Return Label & knows the item in it, for sure the parcel will lost...
So, before we do any return item, do the following : 1) Take pix of all items and accessories next to the Return Label before putting everything inside the parcel. 2) When the pick-up guy arrived, we have to sign a form together with the guy's signature. Take a pix if this panel. 3) After both parties signed, ask the pick-up guy to WhatsApp the screenshot of the status of pick-up. This will reveal the pick-up guy's WhatsApp number and also the time and date of the pick-up status.
All the above will act as an insurance if anything happens during the return process.
Actually, this is my 1st experience returning Lazada item via pick-up service thru NinjaVan. Usually I return to MBE at shopping mall. Never have any issue return via MBE at all.
Now, awaiting for Lazada to evaluate the item. Expecting a feedback from Lazada on next Tuesday for the result.

Q - Why doesn't my Zenfone Max Pro M1 detect my unifi WiFi connection? A - It's not a defect, the phone does not support dual band WiFi, i.e. it only supports the 2.4GHz band, and not the 5GHz band.
does it mean, cannot use wifi at home coz i using unifi?

You can, but connect to the 2.4GHz band if you're using a dual band router.

First, ensure to set the router to emit both 2.4GHz & 5GHz Wi-Fi bandwidth.
Next, ensure for 2.4GHz, the Wi-Fi Channel is set to either Channel 3, or Channel 6 or Channel 10 (depending on interference in your house). For my M1 and my router, Channel 10 gives the best result...
After changed the Channel, restart both router and M1.

I believe there is certain batch from Made in China facing this issue...
My unit was on batch "August 2018" from EIN... So, that's why Laz did not proceed with REPLACEMENT becoz they know many buyers facing the same issue on the camera...
Perhaps those getting the September batch will get a proper camera modules...

Also the price on Lazada went up. It's now 1299 instead of 1237. Could be another reason why they opted to refund you instead of replace a brand new unit for you.

But 128GB is dropping price now...I don't really crave for Poco...waiting for next year F2...

Yeah. Another reason for them to choose the refund instead.
& what the new phone will be ? On process delivery ?
I touch-up the RM1,237 with RM2,299... Item was returned and full refund...no new phone ...so, this RM1,237 will be invested into 128GB iPhone X"R"etarded later becoz finally Mr. Timmy followed my instructions to include dual-SIM-dual-Standby iPhone after like 10 years in the wishlist...

Ahh, OK, you touched-up the price. No wonder we couldn't guess it
For the Retarded phone with dual active SIM, you'll need to get a China/HK model with two physical SIMs as we will most likely get the one that supports only eSIM + one physical SIM. Only maxis has eSIM now, and that also only available on a Huawei watch!
By the way, I'm also targeting the Retarded phone, haha...
Yeah, everyone go buy M1 599 before it is running out of stocks. After the latest update with the fingerprint problem gone, it is really a good buy.
Yeah, confirm fingerprint issue fixed. Even I am skeptical about the fix but after using for 1 week, confirm it is working fine now. 9/10 times it works now.
Some people have high demands for a phone that costs just RM599..
Speaking of which, it’s Flash Sale Day @ Lazada again, and in addition to the 3+32 one going for 599, the 4+64 one is also listed at 799 Today.
yup, onsale right now, rm799 aka rm800 for 4gb/64gb darnnnnn , i really hate the Adreno 509, Snapdragon always pair a weeken graphics with thier mid-range soc, and im pretty sure it will be lags if THERE IS an ultra-high mode pubg mobile

Hello there, I'm new here. Really enjoy this thread content. Just want to know about you guys opinion. Just found a second hand of this phone for rm800, 6gb version. Should I buy it? Already tempered glass so yeah, seem quite a deal imo. Or is there any alternative for this phone with same price? Priotize on battery life, and cause I'm thinking to use the phone as casual gaming. 800 is the maximum budget. Thanks in advance.

For casual gaming and good battery life, I would think a new 4GB/64GB one would be sufficient. It was going for RM799 yesterday at Lazada flash sale.
If you insist on a 6GB one though, you can probably get a new one for about RM930 or RM950 and personally I wouldn’t buy a used one just to save RM150 or so. But that’s my personal opinion

If second hand unit, ensure to have official receipt and all accessories in the box.
As for gaming, look at YouTube channels for FPS performance on the M1.
A few important criteria when mobile gaming is no. 1 priority are: 1) FPS. 2) Touch screen responsiveness (iPhone X "R"etarded has 120Hz touch input). 3) Screen quality (HDR, AMOLED, IGZO, etc). 4) Screen brightness in direct sunlight. 5) Sound quality. 6) Heat management for prolong gaming. 7) Energy supply. 8) Broadband and Wi-Fi performance. 9) Weight and ergonomic. 10) Bluetooth controller compatibility. 11) Gyro and proximity sensors. 12) AR Core support for future game titles.
M1 is average for all the above except item no. 1, 10 and 12 which is subjective and yet to be discovered.
Alternative to M1 is definitely Redmi Note 5i and second hand Poco...

IMHO the 6GB version for this phone is not worth it, since this is just a lower midrange phone with an SD636 chip. Apps won't be able to fully utilize that extra RAM due to already being bottlenecked by the mediocre chip not to mention the extra amount of RAM is going to affect your overall battery life. The only advantage for that extra RAM is if you somehow want to retain yours apps being open while consistently multitasking, lots of users are commenting that even having 6GB on phone such as the Oneplus 6 is kinda of a overkill unless you are some kinda of developer who found ways to create some custom ROM or app to use those extra memory.
For me the sweet spot for a phone with specs such as this would be the 4GB variant. Or if your budget is a little over 1k then the Poco F1 or Honor Play is much more worth it at around 1.2k. The chip on both of these phones have no problem of even running Wii console emulator on Android with consistent 60FPS.

Since the server pushes update notice to different serial numbers by batches, it may take some days for you to receive the FOTA notice. Thanks for your patience. You may tap “System updates” in [Settings] >[System] to check if there is new firmware available. Or, you can also try to manually update firmware by referring to the following link. How to update firmware on my phone?
Don't recommend Mediatek SoC. Only for casual users who don't know difference between Mediatek and Snapdragon. Personally I will never get a Mediatek phone.
Haha, I had 'usha'ed the max plus, but yeah.. snapdragon ftw.. Thanks for all of your feedback, but I might take the 6gb version.. Also, a little out of topic, but what phone do you all recommend getting for taking photos? If possible, below rm1000 or rm1000~1399.. F9 seems nice..
Thanks for the comment. I guess I will skip this update.
The last update was superb though. It fixed the fingerprint scanner issue once and for all. But some say at the expense of the battery life.
I can't really confirm on the battery life part as i hasn't been using this phone that much these days. It just sits idle among some other phones that i bought for my personal user experience testing.

If I were you... This guy has Sony IMX 362 with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) with 5K mAh energy supply & AMOLED screen...
I owned it becoz of low-light pix & vix capability... It's an under-dog amongst the flagship and current 2018 devices...

Even sacrifice a bit battery life for a smooth fingerprint experience , I will definitely said it is worth it. After all , the 5K battery life can last for 2 days .
There's definitely a significant improvement in battery life with this latest update. They must have "strengthened system stability" with tongkat ali FOTA - can really tahan lama...hahah!

That is too big. I don't like to carry a brick. Around 5" - 5.5" is best for me. Even this Asus M1 is a bit big for me liking. My favourite is still the iphone 6s 4.7" form factor.
Guys, found a way to enable Electronic Image Stabilisation in the default app. This is how.
1) Open the stock camera app 2) Click on settings 3) Go down to red eye reduction and tap on it until a notification comes up saying something on the lines of you are entering additional settings. 4) Switch to video mode 5) Make sure you are shooting at less than 4k. 6) You may now toggle the Image Stablization option in the settings.
If you need to revert back to stock setting menu: Please clear the app data & cache.

God gracious... Got secret mode for what....haiya...very "ma-fan" one this Snapdragon cam...
azhar, have you change to this as your primary phone? would you recommend the 6gb version or just 4gb?
Nope... This M1 cannot challenge our epic LeMoto P2 for the Super AMOLED and other nifty features built inside the stock LeMoto ROM... Only cam this M1 can replace LeMoto P2...
No point getting 6GB becoz the price difference is a lot (in Malaysian Ringgit...)... Besides, the Snap636 will be replaced by 710 next year and then we feel this 6GB is "old"...

So, is getting 4gb version is a value for our money in terms of performance and functionality? Or that only applies to the 3gb only?

In my opinion the 4GB is value for money too, coz you're getting additional 1GB RAM, double the storage capacity and a better camera setup. But from 4GB to 6GB, the difference is just the additional 2GB RAM. Everything else similar to the 4GB variant.

6gb seem to be a gimmick for mid-range processor, they should be pair with sd700 series on my opinion, sd700 series with out the UFS2.1 (fast storage) also seem to be acceptable for the current gaming title .

Thanks for the info. Disable the auto brightness long time ago, now can give it a try.,😀
Yup. Do that. It feels normal now. I disabled auto mode, set brightness to 50% max and then enabled auto again and adjusted to 50% again. Seems to be working well.
I'm thinking of going with the Xr first then going with Xs Max later. But we'll see how it goes. I'm doing what azhar75 suggested, turn off WiFi, on Data Saver and on Battery Saver. Seems to be working.
Ah ok...battery saver is essentially similar to turning on airplane mode but probably better for savings. Which means my phone's not doing too bad either.

Will try that combo tonight. Thanks!
No need airplane mode... Later your wife number 3 calls you in the midnight and got engaged sound... Tooot... Tooot.. Later she got angry, how...?

Yup...but the cam hack to extend its manual features does not have proper HDR mode...So, I've reverted back to default configuration by clear data of the stock cam...
