Evening programmers. My friend company ask me to build a website application mainly for CRUD process. Just simple key-in data, read, update and delete. Planning to use CodeIgniter, jQuery, MySQL. How much should i charge for build it? This is my 1st time to be freelance. Hope to have any references or guides on this Thanks for help. This post has been edited by 2uk3y: Aug 28 2018, 04:38 PM

QUOTE(2uk3y @ Aug 29 2018, 07:50 AM) normally how much per hour? depends on your skill level, u can take a figure in your mind like 10k, then break ur project into modules and set hour needed per module. and divide the total hours with your total desired amount. you will get an idea about hourly price.

lets say you see yourself as a rm 6.4k per month developer typical settings is 8hrs per day, 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month
160 hrs (8 x 5 x 4) = 6400 1 hrs = 40
if you guesstimate the project will take you 2 weeks (10 days) to complete, then the asking price would be rm 3200 ( rm 40 x 80 hrs)

Remember to state that you'll charge extra for any scope changes. If not the customer keeps changing this and that and drags you around. You can give free changes for 1 or 2 times, but not INFINITE times.
NEVER EVER let customer abuse your services; always assume customer knows nothing even though they use the correct "term", the only know "OOP, Database 1NF 2NF 3NF up to 6NF" but dunno what the heck it is anyway.
YOU design the DATABASE structure, YOU decide which Javascript module(jQuery, Angular, React, Vue) to use, YOU decide which Apache or NGINX use, YOU decide which virtual private server to host.
Please keep our software skills at a high level. Provided you write maintainable code. Lookup how Laravel structure its codes. Use a version control to manages changes.
