Im considering these 3 model as they are quite similar in spec and price:

Aspire E14 (E5-476G-81VA)

Aspire E 14 (E5-476G-5486)

Inspiron 15 5000 (5570)

Is dell or acer better that i should consider?

Dell's build quality and after sales service trumps Acer's.

Depends on model

Both are similar: build quality, input devices, battery life etc

For this budget I'll suggest Lenovo Ideapad 320s 14 with RAM and SSD upgrades

try for yourself which keyboard you like.

I have been using dell for years. the best thing of dell is the service. you just call them and report the problem and they send the tech over to do replacement no need to wait for weeks without laptop smile.gif

lenovo has become like HP. bad quality, terrible pricing, terrible service. Years ago lenovo made really good laptops but not anymore. Specs to price wise, and many other things i would not buy a lenovo laptop today, and never would've with HP has they have been terrible for years.

Acer started out bad but improved over the years, i still would consider them but if service is important then Dell, but dell quality is not anywhere better than acer and my alienware is the proof of it. Burnt its own board and screen many times.

All entry-level gaming laptops have 4GB VRAM option except for Lenovo. Too bad because Y530 looks amazing and fresh!

still what im saying is dell build quality is only on the exterior and not the electronics, so make sure if you buy dell you get that warranty or extended if it is cheap.

haven't got experience with Acer laptop but had two dead Dell ultrabook in the past 10 years. Both top spec XPS, 13.3". The first one was in the early days of ultrabook, so cost close to RM10k that time. The second one was less than 2 years old. Both dead because of faulty MOBO. I love their design and look but would recommend extended warranty for it.

thanks for sharing. I had a benQ lap top for 10 yrs before I accidentily drop it on floor and it smash to pieces.. Otherwise its still runs well for online browsing and other low requirement stuff.

I think lesson we can learn is that famous brands doesn't mean top quality.

In between the different type of laptop brands, on Dell and Acer, It totally depends on the user choice, and from CRM Software Development you can easily get all the related information to go with the proper choices and circumstances also.

After having Dell, HP and Lenovo as my main laptops, I am trying out Acer. So far so good.
