What's your definition of good ice cream? Decide that first, then you might get better suggestions. For me, it must be creamy ie. good quality milk and the sweetness cannot overpower the creamy taste.

Manufacturers also tend to tweak ice cream tastes based on the market. I enjoyed Haagen Dazs ice cream in the US, but the taste in Malaysia is different, too sweet. Ben and Jerry's tend to be better, but for mass produced stuff at the supermarket, I enjoy the Australian ice cream brands best. You can get some at Jaya/Village grocers.

For custom made stuff, can't beat Galler chocolate ice cream in Belgium or the homemade ones made by the farmers at their dairy farms. I also find that the ice cream at the parlours eg. Baskin Robbins is better than supermarket ones even if the same brand.

Best vanilla ice cream I've ever tasted out there is homemade by my own family though, far far better than anything commercial. biggrin.gif

I'm open to trying different types of ice cream.
But similarly, I like a creamy one which is not overly sweet biggrin.gif
