I'm looking for new phone, and found it dirt cheap in Lazada, 11th Street. However after placing order the vendor told me to cancel and only deals it buy phone directly from them. Reported it to Lazada and they did not take any actions. Instead Lazada cancelled my order and refund.

Have anyone experience this? Anyone knows why these vendor can sell the phone dirt cheap? Not being naive, but I did get good bargain items from Lazada and 11th Street previously, but never encountered anything like this recent experience.

I.e. Huawei P20 Pro is selling at RM1.5k

Don't have to warn me about it. Any transaction outside of Lazada will be hard to take further action. What ticks me is that, I just found out Lazada knew this sort of things been going on since earlier this year. And they still do nothing or very little about this. Kinda bummer for bargain hunter like myself

Yes. I was thinking this could be stock clearance of some kind as Huawei is releasing new models soon.

Lazada is own by Alibaba. And Alibaba have the reputation that it's weak when comes to filtering genuine and scam merchants.

Don't be so naive. Any transaction not done thru the portal is highly suspicious.

sorry, i may have misread you. but when you say dealer wants you to directly with them, is it done thru online or having to go to their stores?

Deal directly with them as in online money transfer to their bank account. A person put up your stuff on a portal, then when someone place an order an already paid thru the portal, than when contacted, that person told you that he does not sell thru that portal. Instead that person told you to cancel and order directly to them. That is a scam.

yes this is what i usually do
Problematic seller will usually get complained very quickly, so make sure to read the review of the device and also the seller carefully.
Just be careful of unbelievably cheap phone deals (like P20 going for 1K vs RRP 2.5k)

Have gotten an Galaxy A7,Galaxy A8, Note 5, S8+ and my current Note 9 off lazada and 11street, no problem so far.
