TM STREAMYX is so SUCK!!!! I think everyone know it!!! However, there is still no signage of TM will bring UNIFI to my area and it has been 6 years till now.
Life with 1Mbps I think everyone know it, Imagine if u need to use Remote Desktop with this hyperspeed...

Based on my observation, my area is not really demand with high speed user and it's old area. I guess I'm the only among them need the 100mbps speed

ANYWAY... is that any chance to force or push TM to bring FIBRE here??? TBH, all the surrounding area got it already, even the taman next to me. I just don't understand why is no under their consideration... ton of request, inquiry has been submitted by me. But no voice heard by them.

Few month ago, (i think in end of 2017), i register unifi at tmpoint HQ(pandan indah i think), but at that time unifi doesnt have coverage but aparment beside my area have it. The tm staff still pick my info for registration and says they will send some tm staff to check my area for infra support.

after 2 month my apartment got unifi, you know what intersting? they do not use telephone line(vdsl)! they pull fibre cable until 5th floor!

currently waiting turbo 100mbps! already got the email..

It's business, if only 1 or 2 customers from an area without fibre support want unifi and they calculated, it's not going to cobver their cost in the next 20 years, then they won't do it, unless there is nothing else to do then they might consider doing it. Get like 20 applications in your area to apply unifi could change the situation.

How the hell do you git push with 512kbps?!

Private IP is IP that can’t be accessed on the Internet and can’t leave the local network, so if you have CCTV or gaming server, no one can acces your server. It is allocated by Digi, as there is not enough individual IPv4 addresses for everyone. TM and Maxis does that as well. If you want to know more, Google.

I have several self hosted server and NAS,
if Digi wont give public IP, I can simply rent a VPS and do port forward. but this add more cost which not feasible

However, TM can tell all DSLAM to use Annex M, this have large upload, at least 1Mbps is good or nothing ...

I think if i remember on my old streamyx line i enabled annex m on my router side, the upload is still soft capped to arnd 512kbps but ping better and upload more stable..

this is why upload is very important, and 200Mb/s upload while may seem like a big relief isnt going to be much especially when you can do a lot of work if things only took seconds.

Fun tip, peoples attention stray after 0.4 seconds, if your PC takes longer than that to do a task you will lose productivity or if your software/product isnt essential to work, people may just quit it and do something else. This is why a lot of PCs pre 90s booted instantly. One would think with the much faster CPU, busses and drive speeds that it should be the same.

A lot of people make the mistake of buying an extremely slow PC. One job i had they allocated an intel atom based PC for me to make apps, i just had to use my alienware instead, really shows the problem with malaysian businesses. you use an intel atom and that compilation will take more than a day, let alone to even run a VM to test.

At the mean time stalk all management employees working in TM, and etc. ispr etty easy now with Linkedin , Facebook and etc. It will be better if get their family and friends involved too to give them the pressure. They will get your tings done just to shut you up. This is what I did when Najib is still the Prime Minister and I threatened him with my vote.

I think Gobind Singh has helped us quite a lot if compare to BN time when Salleh Said is in place. Nothing he has contributed

Referring to this I agree. You can send strong and multiple request if your neighborhood already have Unifi coverage and they claimed that no more ports in that area for your installation. Spamming their management and authorities will speed up the process. This does not valid to the area has no fiber coverage

It happened to me when I was told they wouldn't install any ports in my area for the current being because there's no demand. Well, I refute their statement because almost every house already got Unifi coverage. I questioned them back why they don't install enough ports to entire row of houses.

I kept pasting notes and notices on the MDF box outside and in all TM point outlets includes all the way from Kerinchi LRT to Menara TM showing that their boss with face picture attached owned me money. AT the mean time I also questioned Najib at the same time why KKM under yours supervision is so lousy and etc and highlight do they still want to win the election a not.

Actually I already have sent some emails to TM stating that if they still give standard reply or read and ignore the mail then they are admitting that they are refusing the installation and going to compensate an amount of money since my house was the only one left out. I also require and insist management staff to call me in a certain period when I was following up using TM live chat otherwise my request for compensation will be valid and TM will liable for a sum of xxx, it turns out that feller just ignored and no calls or replies after xx hours.

It turns out I won the fight due to their decision to ignored and brushed me away during that time. Since they are good in writing TnC then we sure to use them properly and knows how to refute them back. I even wrote a sentence that said if this is still being ignored and not replied for xx hours or the same template is still given then Tm will agree to xxx where it will replace TnC stated by TM.

yes, certainly a bad experience if one is still using streamyx. 1Mbps speed even to surf a web is slow. in fact, it may even pull a property's value down without a fibre internet connection nowdays.

to get TM to install the infra, it needs 80% of demand of your neighbours. else ownself request, one street it costs 20k.

I live in kampung area and still waiting. Only got upgraded to SUBB but 8mbps still slow..... no stable

I know how it feels uploading GigaBytes of data with STREAMYX 512kbps UPLOAD SPEED. When 3/4 of it finish being uploaded after leaving the system whole day, ERROR, lost connectivity!. No choice have to restart from scratch. feels like want to burn all UNIFI pole nearby the area.. seriously.

Jenjarom here been how many years still using screamyx. Recently their sales call me up after I keep spam request for unifi. They told me unifi available. But guess what.. It's copper unifi. And speed available is 10Meg only. My current package is already 8meg but it's tune to run at 10meg. Upload speed I know unifi lite is 5Meg. Compared to screamyx 512k but many complaints from users regarding unifi lite using vdsl plan upgraded from screamyx about unstable Internet. Lazy and stingy tm... Still don't want to upgrade my area with fibre. I think they only mini upgrade some areas without fibre to vdsl and consider upgrade already.

That's why i say.. TM is keep on expanding the unifi to places, but for the coverage area for that places will never grow..

but anyhow u still got 8mbps now, i just 1mbps max speed only. ARHHHH!!!!

and why copper fibre will be unstable?? i mean once they called "fiber" the cable will be fully fibre aldy right.. how come it makes with copper??

its VDSL2 half fiber half copper. copper speed degrades over distance. so the further your house from the fiber port/switch the slower your TOP SPEED will be. FTTx doesnt have this problem because its fully fiber connected.

According to my understanding.. vdsl isn't anything related with fibre or anything to do with fibre. Perhaps it's just my poor knowledge on vdsl. I believed that vdsl utilize a different hz and a more higher one compared to adsl. A higher frequency. Which means our normal screamyx modem will not worked anymore because it uses something differently although on the same telephone line. Because the existing copper line infra is actually capable to transmit higher frequency to enable higher broadband speed. But at the same time, higher frequency means more fluctuation in speed. This allows both side to project higher frequencies and at the same time introduce more noise since the spectrum seems wide. Whether the dslam is near to your house or not, it'll not be stable. You are merely subscribing to a service that's stable than wireless LTE/3G solutions but worse than screamyx in terms of stability. You'll experience high latency. This is the worse gimmick created by TM just to please our Communication Minister. To force screamyx users to subscribe to this shitty vdsl solution is not even a proper upgrade but merely making screamyx to shift to another worse internet solution. VDSL has existed long but to get it working requires quality infras. I last heard from some TM contractors, they're actually using WalaoWEI technology. You'll get the picture.

Within 15 mins awhile ago, disconnected a few times until no signal, then I switch off my modem and on again, same thing happen again. Any chances of increasing the upload speed pass the 512k limit?

The download speed is crap, even for 8mb, watching youtube also got problem, not to mention browsing my favourite website for news also stuck.

In my opinion, if your area do not have any fiber facility, I would rather purchase Digi Unlimited RM 150, get a 4G router and share among all members in the house. It is much much better than Slowmix

This gobind really misplaced priorities. They should focus on accelerating subb rollout to rural and suburban areas (at least can 20mbps..). Now want to fiber all the way takes forever..

Quite hard to push them, as currently streamyx listed high pricing.
Like me owned 4M about 4 year, other 4 year for 8M. no news for fibre or the unifi lite 10m....

If you need faster and cheaper, can complaint and switch plan to Unifi Wireless 10Mbps?

Your distance was far away from local exchange, maybe 4-8km and that's why only got 1M or 2M ports only.
Assuming if your nearby got Unifi, and you could find some neighbors who also demanded for it, then TM will come to you.
(Happened to me since 2 years ago after attempted 2 times by my own self.)

Need a repeater for that length.

Min 10 is required, more is better...

still need some time for survey, application, installation by phases, testing for 1-2 weeks, then even installed every weeks 1230am will refresh your line since it's was new coverage for month(s).

They tend to be responsive when the installation request is made by fiber partners.

I spend almost 2 years making noise at TM about how my area is supposedly covered but when the contractor come, they can't find dp that cover my home.
They simply refuse to investigate it beyond counter database check.

Then I decided to turn to Celcom. They quickly pointed out how TM assigned my house on the wrong street and I just need extra poles.
Within 3 days TM contractor come survey pole installation and next month they come to install two poles (it was pkp time they have pole supply issue). Then I got my fiber internet.
