According to the spec, it do support band40. Check the spec. And it do support CA

I tried using unifi mobile, it seem to be able to do CA and I am getting both band 40 and band 5. In fact the signal is much stronger compare with Note 8. You want to check if u turn on the CA?

I am surprised that there is such good respond for this model until sold out. Let hope there is no price hike for new stock.

Yes China started selling 8gb version. For me 6gb is good enough.

I wonder where did they get the info there will be global rom? Honor/Huawei have not release any information that this phone will be available globally, therefore no information if there will ever be any global rom available.

Here is some of my feedback after few days usage:

1) I do not see any issue with GPS, it is working fine with Waze or Google map. No issue at all. Locking is the same spped as my P20 Pro
2) There is no voLTE or VoWIFI available. If voLTE is important for you, don't get this phone. At this moment, it is not available.
3) I notice that there is no 4G+ indicator although it is working on CA. I am pretty sure CA is working as the speed is as fast as my P20 pro with 4G+, using the same network. I will check again later to reconfirm this
4) I have received two firmware update since I got this phone, and the security patch is already Aug patch.
5) I have no issue with all my apps and everything else is working fine.

1) I not sure if the face unlock uses IR but it does do work on dark.
2) No, it does not have IR blaster, so it does not work as remote controller

That is a good news. I wonder why it didn't show 4G+ even at places that is 4G+. Anyway, it doesn't bother me as the speed is as fast as I am using P20pro.

Gesture works great. I am using it now. Love it. Just that I cannot find the volte option. Even the camera added feature it there

Yes, it can be updated even thought it is using CN firmware. And usually is fast. No worry about that.

No, you have to buy separately.

There is no global rom available for this as it is only release in China. And there is not much different of the rom with china or global. You will get global language.

I am using one. I have no issue so as many others. The China rom work perfectly fine here. The only few thing that you may want to take caution.

1) There will be some chinese words appearing even you change the language. If you have concern on this, ignore this phone.
2) The default browser is Huawei browser. You can always download and install chrome and change the default brower to chrome
3) There will be no google playstore when you first get your phone or when you do a full reset. You can install this from Huawei app store. It is a very easy process. Please note that you may need to repeat this process when you reset your phone. If this bother you, then ignore this phone.

There are couple more that is mentioned previously. You can read back.

Basically the phone work fine but you need to do some tweeting to remove chinese apps and install google services as there is no google apps available for China Android device. If you can accept all this, then get this phone. If you cannot accept, then go look for other local available model.
