I went to use my PBB card today, found that it couldnt go through. Called up the customer service and found that they had blocked my card. They mentioned that they tried calling, but my phone log has no missed calls, neither did i recall missing any too.
I asked for more info on why they blocked my card, and the only thing they could come up with is that the relevant department advised them to do so, because there might be unauthorised transactions on the card. I kept asking for more info, but they keep telling me that they had no other info in regards to the matter, only that they had been advised to do so by their department.
Anyone running into the same issue? They said they blocked my card on Monday. Have two with them, a Visa Signature and a World, had already canceled the visa infinite which came with World
Just an update on this. 1) I got another call from PBB finally informing me that my card is blocked ( a little late for that). They mentioned that Visa had advised them to do so
2) I called up Visa, cause I was curious, I've never heard of Visa doing so. Visa denies doing so, they maintained that they will only send a report to their financial institution if the customer personally called them to block their card
3) I called PBB again, and clarified matters with another customer representative. This one finally mentioned that they did so because a merchant partner's system has been compromised (which merchant, they do not know; the relevant department probably is not willing to disseminate such info), thus my card was blocked.
4) The representative confirmed that they will be sending over a replacement card, which would take up to 7 business days to arrive.
5) I checked on PBE, and found that they had replaced my current card number with a new one.
