Hi guys, just received my Quantum CC, never use a credit card before and would like to ask a few questions here, sorry if these was being asked before.

1. How to make repayment to my swiped transactions? Can only repay after the transactions are being posted on unbilled transactions? Can I make payment during "Authorised Charges" stage?

2. Both cards appeared in PBe, why I cannot make payment to "TO OWN CARD"? Chose "TO OTHER CARD" instead?

3. How Cash Back work actually? If I fully repay my transactions, CB will be posted to my Saving/Current ACC?

4. Minimum Monthly Repayment of 5%, if I only make 5% monthly, the remaining balance will be charge 15% p.a?

Sorry for such noob questions, really new to CC.

Thank you.

1. you can pay anytime... but one would want to stretch out the payment to as long as possible, which would be the statement due date.

2. quirk of pbe

3. CB will be credited to the cc, you could treat it as payment to the cc, refunded transactions could be treated as payment as well.

4. Your interest will be be charged to the 100% of what you owe, instead of the balance of 95%. (even if you pay 99.9%....they will charge you interest on the 100% instead of the 0.1% that you owe).

1. You can deposit any amount to your CC anytime (including with -ve balance, you may do this to increase available credit limit, ie higher than approved credit limit) at PB's Cash Deposit Machines, Fund transfer from any bank using MEPS IBFT (Card Payment).

2. Doesn't matter, the payment is updated immediately at your card accounts.

3. The rebate that you earn will be deducted from your outstanding balance when the monthly statement is issued.

4. ALWAYS MAKE FULL PAYMENT - STATEMENT BALANCE BY DUE DATE, avoid pay less after deducting the extra rebate that you earn and credit due to reversal of transaction, after statement is issued.
If you pay less than the statement balance, you will be charged at 18% (for new cardholders) on outstanding balance including the unbilled transactions.

Thank you for your kind verification.

I've got my card on 28 Aug, activated (pin requested via phone called) on 28 Aug, make a few transactions these three days. May I know when my monthly statement will be ready? What was the monthly cycle be like? End of September? Or a partial statement of August which I need to make the repayment?

Wait let me get it straight. If I have RM1k outstanding balance.

Eg 1
When statement out, still RM1k.
But few days later got rebate of RM50
Pay RM950 or RM1k?

Eg2
Before statement out, rebate RM50.
Statement amount RM950.
Pay RM1k or RM950?

Check your CC letter, the statement date is there, you have 20 days to settle the statement balance.
You may not get your first bill in September (less than a full month cycle), but in October.
You can always check your outstanding balance, statement balance, due date at pbe.

For peace of mind, ALWAYS PAY THE STATEMENT BALANCE!
Different banks different interpretation, You may end up paying interest and waste your time to dispute.
In Malaysia, None of CC issuers can charge you interest if you pay the statement balance by due date.

So if I make a RM10K fund transfer (via PBE) to one of my CC (credit limit lets say 20k), I could then swipe a RM 30K transaction in one go? Assuming my card is clean with max credit limit available.

Just a question, since PB Cash Back cycle is based on statement cycle, let's say my statement date is 5th. Can I spend on 5th or 6th to get new month cash back?

if you miss the posting date after your statement, it will calculate on next statement.

Ok so the cash back will be based on posting date then? Then I guess spending on 6th will be a safest choice.

Thanks for the replies!

Or avoid the merchant using Public Bank's machine (eg Mr DIY) on 5/9.

if the transaction/merchant is your regular place, then you'd know if they ever posted same day.

if it's a new merchant, yes, doing on the 6th is safer bet.

The promo says spend 150 on each card. Unless you want to sacrifice the bags/voucher in exchange of saving $25 + spending $150?
