yes you can pledge in FD for a cc facility. you cant use the FD (except earning meagre interest/profit) while having the cc. terminate one, terminate both facilities.


generally, bank assess you and have a risk scoring and decide how much they willing to give you the credit facility or none at all (you are too risky for them).

by pledging your own money is sort of providing guarantee to the bank, in case you default in cc with debts.

Under the Service Tax (Rate of Tax) Order 2018, Lim said RM25 will be charged for each principal credit card or charge card on the date it is activated or the date it is renewed, and every time the card is renewed.

I think/hope I've activated mine on PBe by setting the PIN. At least, I think I've done what I could without the physical card. Or hope that report is wrong. Whoever have PBe, I think better try activate it online.

probably can wave. but usually there’s a security measure whereby the first transaction has to be via pin first. nevertheless best if one activates it only after getting the physical card, but understanding the rush to do it before sst, you may have to take a calculated risk.

No la, I didn't activate it for SST. I thought adding in the PIN to make it safer while I wait for it to arrive. Today only I saw the SST thingy. I think people can still argue about issuing date vs activation.

I think Public Bank don't have this feature. My first use at Ikea for the Quantum, they just wave only without needing a PIN.

Once the card is approved, it's available on my PBe online. I think I clicked Add card, then I can set the PIN. Then it's available along with my existing PB cards.

one is renewal (you get a replacement card every 5 years) and one is activation (new card). No?

You can apply for PBOnline even if you just have credit card. But the thing is that you need to walk into branch to link your cc to PBOnline.
