At some point I realized that my laptop did not show a negotiated gigabit connection even though all my cables were labelled cat5e. Changing 2 cables, one between the BTU to the router and one from router to laptop allowed gigabit negotiation. Speeds jumped to 104-105Mbps. It's pretty repeatable if I change the cable back to the one that does not seem to be up to the cat5e mark. hi, my lan it shows 1 Gbps though. meaning should be gigabit connection already. BTU to my router is cat 5e. my lan also using cat5e.
