I understand that. However it is TDM based so in GPON Line Profile, each ONU will end up having a time slot that is so small it limit throughput for each ONU even though the fiber is not utilized.

For PON infrastructure, concurrent transmission is not possible because all ONU in the same splitter (OLT port) transmit on the same wavelength, causing frame corruption, hence the TDM design where everyone wait for their configured time slot

Let's say each splitter connect 32 ONU, each will have 80Mbps.
However, because not everyone sign up 100Mbps, the GPON Line Profile can configure each ONU to have the required subscription speed.

With 10x speed upgrade, even at 100mbps for each ONU, each TDM time slot can only run at 25.6mbps.

Yes I know Wifi, LTE runs on time slot too. However in PON they are fixed interval and must to be provisioned.

Let's say your area is congested, the congestion is upstream in the BNG or metro-e switch (the GPON doesn't congest because time slot is provisioned). What I am describing in the GPON limitation itself

Hello guys, upgrade aside, may I know are there ways to disable the unifi phone or make it unusable when telephone cable inserted to the phonejack? I tried changing the vlan 400 to some other number but that does not work. Or is there ways to at least disable outgoing calls? I know this request is weard, but reason being that I am sharing acc & do not want housemates to plug in and use phone. Hope sifu here can give direction.
