QUOTE(stinky @ Aug 20 2018, 10:21 AM) I use mostly 2.4 spectrum. My current asus RT-AC1200HP only support up to 300mbs for 2.4 and remaining 900mbs is 5.0. With Unifi upgrading to 500mbs, this AC2900 can support 2.4 till 750mbs. So to answer you, Yes for me to fully utilize UNIFI's Turbo upgrade I see... ur devices wifi spec can support up to 750mbps?

QUOTE(mlamlam @ Aug 20 2018, 11:06 AM) Can advise which fiber modem you are using? I am suspecting that TM would upgrade those using the new generation fiber modem first because mine one WAN port only support 100Mbps... Following this post. I got my modem since day 1 of unifi. So I'm afraid they won't upgrade me because of the modem. This is my current modem.

QUOTE(coconutzz @ Aug 20 2018, 09:07 AM) I have a quick question. I m on 50Mbps. If upgraded to 500Mbps , do i need to change my router? I am now using Asus RT-12HP Yes, as many previous posters have said, and I would highly recommend the Asus RT-AC1300UHP, or the TP-Link Archer C7 v4, at the very least.

Any particular model is able to support gigabit? I changed all the Cat6 and router to gigabit already. Just not sure about the modem.

QUOTE(KaizokuLuffy @ Aug 20 2018, 11:40 AM) No worries, here to help so am happy to answer your questions. Yes, it support Unifi TV with LAN port 4, if I am not mistaken. It could be LAN port 1, but doesn’t matter. Just change it already lol. I lost my DIR850L, and can’t be bothered with it.

How about the 5Ghz coverage on this Asus router ? I think i will give RT-AC1300HP a try. right now if upgraded to 300mbps is more than enough. Maybe that tabung can become my AP router. lol

You would not need it if the wireless coverage of the RT-AC1300UHP is good enough.

QUOTE(mlamlam @ Aug 20 2018, 09:03 AM) I can get a price from RM860 around with Hong Kong Warranty, power adapter no need converter. As I will travel to HK 2-3 times yearly, I would buy this if TM upgraded me, now using AC66u only. HK warranty? So if it happens to go kaput (not sure how likely or how less likely), then you have to wait until your next trip to claim warranty? I am using TM stock router. So far my wireless is reasonable. My folks usually use their devices in the living room and bedrooms, all well covered. May not be 100% strength but good enough since they are using it for chat and web surfing. Not so much for streaming etc. I am now wondering if I should upgrade to a more powerful one (although not the most powerful one) such as AC86U.

Wow! I just got turbo'd from 50Mbps to 500Mbps! Damai Impian 2, Cheras. No SMS, no phone call but received the turbo email near end of July. So seems like the turbo activity is still ongoing. Will need to check the speed tonight when I get home from work. Hopefully can get decent speed with DIR-850L tabung. This post has been edited by Prissy Elf: Aug 20 2018, 12:54 PM
