If i remember correctly myrepublic doesnt use nucleus connect anymore? So their backhaul bandwidth is actually from singtel, not starhub...
All isps rent their dark fibre and last mile from Singtel, through a company called Netlink Trust (govt appointed).
Tm can play Singtel's role in malaysia in this case
As the backhaul from buildings to central office is dark fibre, the bandwidth is greatly dependent on the isp and their equipment in general
For example, netlink trust have a lot of spare dark fibre in their ducts, that you can even sign up a dedicated fibre (sfp+) 10gbps internet straight from your house to central office without splitters, for only sgd189/mth (superinternet residential activeethernet plan)
Oh, and singapore isps dont use pppoe. Instead they limit the number of usuable onu ports to one only (hoping u dont connect yr own network switch). What happens when u do that tho is u can get multiple public ip
Nucleus used by Starhub, I'm not too sure about MyRepublic. I recall they run their dedicated fibre cable, maybe not now.All isps rent their dark fibre and last mile from Singtel, through a company called Netlink Trust (govt appointed).

NLT used to belong to Singtel. IDA force Singtel to divest the business. For now they are minority shareholder at 20 %.
Singtel belong to Temasek, and Temasek belong to government. Towards the end the money channel back to themselves.
- This will exercise by TM from time being once Fibre is fully deployed in Malaysia.
- Meanwhile TM will contract with other rivals . If were to use their infrastructure pay them a certain amount of fund. Regardless how many customer sign up with them
Charges we expecting in future
- FTP activation is currently charged at Singapore 56.71 SGD per signed up and per relocation. Effective from 2018
- Maybe installation charge.
- Some people might hack the wall and remove the FTP during renovation. So they will charge for rewiring.
- One premises entitle for one time wiring only . Think wisely where you looking to put your FTP to avoid blindspot and poor WI-FI Coverage
10Gbps current charged SGD 189 by Singtel, doesn't mean they are on dedicated Fibre line. They still sharing the same bandwidth with the building and units.
- You have any clue how much a dedicated line only serve to your home ? With multiple mode. Only multinational company can afford that
- Also are you looking to invest in PCI Express 10 Gigabit Ethernet Network Card . Cost you are fortune at USD 250
Consumer grade motherboard, do not have any Ethernet support 10 Gigabit till date.
True, I have no idea why Malaysia still exercise PPPoE. Most countries Obtain ISP address automatically, with credential patch in ONT.
- In Malaysia the IP address more or less the same, if you notice. The IP address given on that area, will be recycle from time to time once reboot.
- I rang once for Static IP, they ask me to fork out another MYR 200 for it. They should look into this, M1 is offering 2 dollar for Static IP.

Haha, I only recommend the router I think is the best for price and stability. Thank you for trusting my recommendation. Hope you got the v4.
RG4400. But, I would recommend you switch to the Archer C7 v4, if you want something more stable, and that can support 800Mbps on 5GHz.
Can’t agree more. I have lost the DIR850L, and the C1200 v1 is just horrible. V3, which is the newest one in the market, is okay.
I would recommend to buy cheap ASUS Router AC86U and AC88U. Please obtain from AmazonRG4400. But, I would recommend you switch to the Archer C7 v4, if you want something more stable, and that can support 800Mbps on 5GHz.
