Since his speedtest result is beyond 100Mbps, that means his BTU is on Gigabit.

my BTU is gigabit as well, why I'm always stuck at 100mbps, could not reach over 150.

If u confirm ur BTU is gigabit capable, but U getting 100mbps ethernet, then u need to call up TM ask then come reconfigure ur port to 1gbps capable. They normally will locked ur port to 100mbps only.

there's a reply that he used cat6 patch....i will try this before i approach TM

Switched my cat5 cable BTU -> N66U, with cat6 patch cord, still same same result, 5ghz with 100mbps, 2.4ghz with 50mbps...

Really don't know what to do. Burn my money for the cables

just had a chat with TM, regarding my limit 100mbps, they just copy paste their FAQ

"Currently, we are piloting the turbo upgrade with selected existing unificustomers first as we are currently working towards the technicalreadiness to ensure optimum experience for customers"

"We hope to complete this pilot phase as soon as we can and we seekyour patience and understanding on this''.

"We would like to ensure the network & technology infrastructurereadiness is capable to support the turbo upgrade so our customers wouldenjoy great experience post speed upgrade."

"We will keep you informed on the status via email or formalannouncement."

it's super efficient when they have answer for those FAQs mad.gif

plus there's no timeline for it, so what i can do is just sit and wait?

logged a case via TM livechat on Monday, today the technician came and replace the BTU, but the speed seems still having issue (download only 20Mbps), so he made a call to their team, something was done at the back, then the speed back to the optimum level (about 100Mbps)

thought is already turbo-ed, but due to the limitation of the router im using, cannot exceed 100Mbps yet..

you're lucky that you had up to the stage that technician came to your place, whereby mine, the live chat just copy n paste the excuse (refer to my previous post), i guess TM is doing something that we could not have what we subscribe for.

BTU port #1, connect the LAN cable to your BTU port #1 to your Intel 1219-V

tell them, ur BTU "not working" or "suspected faulty"..

jeezzzz i told that my bandwidth is not up to my turbo speed....screw myself up...

so your technician came to your house, did whatever test, still can't resolve?

finally i did my own testing and it turns out to be cable issue from my router to my desktop.

It's a cat5e patch, length about 30m to 40m, i did cut away about 5m due to too lengthy.

In the meantime I tried all short 1m to 2m cables, from cat5 till cat6 able to get 500mbps, while the lengthy 40m able to get 100mbps only...

Is it the longer cable, decreasing performance?

Any intro for lengthy cable to utilize the full speed?

yes  the  longer the LAN cable the  more  loss and interference pick up  ,  hence  reduce of speed . sad.gif
another possible reason is  the Cat5e  cable / 30m one  is a poor quality cable.

you need to try with Cat 6  or Cat 7  cable.
or  lessen the distance  hence use a shorter cable .
hope this helps !  smile.gif

aiks...length cable is compulsory, coz my BTU/Router place on 2nd floor and I need to use a lengthy cable to connect from 2nd to 3rd floor.
I also wanna avoid wireless at all cost, coz there's more than 10 devices connected to my 2.4/5 ghz wifi

any alternatives? If i get a cat6/7 lengthy cable, about 30m, it will resolve?

Cat 6 is definitely better, and get one of the brands listed on 1st page, 1st post, green text. Cat5e is actually okay, and supports 1000Mbps up to 100m. Your Cat 5e cable must not be that good.
*
i checked the cable was Cat5e patch brand as Vetop...will checkout those you listed.

yes  get a good quality  Cat 7  cable will fix your speed  issue .
if you have possibility try  test with  Cat 6  first.  as Cat 7  is more expensive due to cable material and construction.
Lay ,  route the cable to avoid any other source of interference..    ie other power cables,  TV , etc...

I will try cat6 as mentioned by TS atm. My cable planning is align with walls and stairs and drilled a hole into my room...the setup is ready, just need to change the cable, that's all

I managed to troubleshoot myself and I got 500mbps via LAN only, 2.4ghz about 100, i think upgrade router or buy an AP is required if want take full advantage.

Here's my quick guide

For starter troubleshooting guide for turbo'ed (500mbps/800mbps but get <100mbps or lower)

Hardware preparation:
1. Few workable cat 6 cable
2. 1 or 2 laptop (google your laptop specs, prefer to have 1 device for 10/100mbps 1 device for gigabit)

Compulsary setup:
1. Make sure you need to use cat6 cable for your BTU Port#1 to router

Test Steps/Scenarios:
1. Plug a cat6 cable from your router to laptop, and run speed test. If get 100mbps max, could be 2 scenario, 1. Router doesn't support gigabit 2. Laptop doesn't support gigabit

Resolution:
1. Check against your Router specs, and for recommendation, refer to the 1st page of the forum in green text

Hi guys, do we need to get a Gigabit Network card for Desktop instead of using the normal Ethernet port that built in with MOBO for the Turbo Upgrade?
*
check your MOBO ethernet spec, if your mobo able to support gigabit, then not required for gigabit network card
