Anyone with old router (supplied by TM) already got turbo-ed?
Regardless of whether you replaced the router on your own.

QUOTE(wilson1stop @ Aug 21 2018, 10:21 AM) haha, TM still proposed to delay price reductions lagi le... ya, maybe TM didnt expect maxis will come so low package Hopefully Celcom Fiber will join us soon, MyRepublic is REAL HARDCORE players... QUOTE(john123x @ Aug 21 2018, 10:22 AM) TBH, i heard lots of negative about maxis home fiber. Thats why i wont be getting Maxis. yup, I will stick to TM for my gaming coz I have PS4 and I play dota2/pubg so I need very low ping for itBut i am happy with maxis providing sub rm100 30Mbps, because i EXPECT TM to counter offer. |

QUOTE(coconutzz @ Aug 21 2018, 10:15 AM) Any of the high-end routers, from TP-Link or Asus. D-Link is not that good unfortunately.QUOTE(KaizokuLuffy @ Aug 21 2018, 10:26 AM) Hey any sifu here please give me some advise. I 'm in final decision making. Choosing Asus router between RT-1300UHP vs RT-AC68U. Just get the Asus RT-AC86U or the TP-Link C3150 v2, if you have that many devices. You should have change a long time ago.My house is a double stores, router is on upstairs currently using that lousy DIR850L (uniFi 30MBps). IPCAM x 4, TVBOX x 1 & Device x 10-12 all connected to 2.4ghz channel. I can only connect to 5ghz when im in upstairs. Any advise ? can my tvbox connect to 5ghz if i use these Asus router ? any different between MU-MIMO and MIMO ? sorry for many question and very appreciate if anyone can answer my questions . TQVM QUOTE(yoshinorimuto93 @ Aug 21 2018, 10:30 AM) Upgraded from 50mbps to 500mbps on 17 August. Due to dlink dir-850l issue, i cannot get full speed via WIFI 5G Change your router to something better. Asus or the high end TP-Link router.![]() QUOTE(stinky @ Aug 21 2018, 10:34 AM) Im in Condo and will be getting 500mbs, So i planned to buy rt-ac86u...at least 2.4 can go up to 750. Nope, RT-AC86U won’t be able to go up to 750 on 2.4GHz. It is not possible, with BGN. The highest N can go with 4 streams is 600Mbps, and that is in lab conditions. Please don’t have unreasonable expectations. You can only get the turbo speeds on 5GHz AC band, regardless of routers. My current asus rt-ac1300hp can go till 300 only for 2.4 |

Did you try wired connection? If you did, there could be something wrong with the settings on your router or device. Change to a different router, to test. |

QUOTE(andrewlimkn @ Aug 21 2018, 10:35 AM) how can i check my WAN port speed? i am using the default router provided by TM. By using a wired connection directly to your router. Get a new wireless receiver that supports 5GHz AC, and spend more money to upgrade your router to something like the Tp-Link Archer C7 v4 at least.I just realised my wireless WIFI receiver to my desktop is only 150 mbps |

QUOTE(leezhijiang @ Aug 21 2018, 10:58 AM) I agree, but you need to configure it yourself for the most optimum settings, and most users are not that network-savvy.QUOTE(raquinz @ Aug 21 2018, 10:58 AM) Most of the people here are definitely more helpful |

QUOTE(toffy @ Aug 21 2018, 11:05 AM) Depends on the seller and where you buy it from. If you want Asus Malaysia warranty, it will be more expensive. If you are fine with China warranty, look for a seller in Lazada that sells it or go directly to Taobao to get it. |

Your devices have to have a Broadcom chip with NitroQAM and 3 streams to get this speed else your max speed will likely be 300Mbps on 2.4GHz with typical 2 stream devices. My current asus rt-ac1300hp can go till 300 only for 2.4 Take note that typically your Wi-Fi actual throughput will be about half the link speed shown on your devices due to overhead and other factors.
