the keto diet. Been on the diet for the past three weeks. While I experienced weight loss (shed 2 kg in three weeks), I don't think it's the way to reduce weight for me. I am constantly thirsty, my skin is dry and I feel tired most of the time. Also, I don't think it is living if you can't enjoy food.
So moving forward, I might start a gym membership.

QUOTE(internaldisputes @ Aug 13 2018, 10:45 AM) Sorry it doesn't work for you. But at least you did lose some weight though. Good luck joining the gym. I read somewhere we humans are programmed to get used to a particular habit once we do something daily for at least 21 days. Hopefully you won't quit going to the gym too before about a month. I wanted to quite in second week but decided to give it another week. I don't think people should be in a habit that makes them feel shitty all the time. As for the gym I used to to go to the gym regularly until a significant event happened and had to stop. Nowadays, I try to keep fit by doing pull ups, sit ups and squats at home.

QUOTE(silvadesk @ Aug 13 2018, 02:00 PM) You sound like you've been super dehydrated. But anyway, Keto diet or not, if your wish is to lose weight, then you must watch what you are eating. Sugary stuff must be avoided. 80% of our weight is associated to our food intake. And with additional support from your gym regime, it will help burn the fats faster and live healthier. Good luck! I think I was strict with my diet when I did keto. Carb was kept below 30g daily. As for the dehydration, yes, I think it was bad. But in spite of taking about 3 litre water a day, I don't go to the toilet that often.

QUOTE(axtray @ Aug 13 2018, 06:13 PM) if you're constantly tired while on keto (and on the 3rd week even), perhaps your body did not adapt to it. From my experience, I've seen people who "claimed" they're doing keto, but they're essentially just on low carb diet (big difference there). majority of people totally underestimated the amount of carbs you can consume while on keto. If you're just eyeballing your food and not knowing the macros (carbs, carb to fiber ratio), then most likely you're not even close to getting keto adapted. But if you did everything correctly, then your body may needed more time as from what I've read, some people make take even up to 4-5 weeks before getting keto adapted. I cut my direct carb totally. My diet mainly consisted of chicken, mayo, egg and cheese. Switched sugar with equal for coffee and took fibre supplement. Had beef and burger patty once during the 3-week period. But on the bright side, now that I am off from keto, I am more aware and cautious of my carb intake.
