Avago maybe ok because of the shares. Those who joined a couple of years ago will be pretty well off with their rsu and options and espp.

Agilent can't match Intel. The measurement/keysight section, at least.

Avago not human to do wan.....had a few friends inside, work for 2 year then cabut already....Avago was good at first but when ppl start to hear good benefit of avago everyone pour in..... then work become unbearable

I see Keysight just Ok shj but still alot of ppl prefer Agilent (couple of my friend when to Agilent from Keysight), maybe because Agilent had better working life then Keysight ?

Haven't met my badminton kaki in 6 years already. He was long time Avago staff. Think he's got it made now if he stayed on. smile.gif

Keysight is the measurement equipment division. Getting less profitable nowadays as it's quite mature and many competitors. Management not that good too.

Agilent is now the life-sciences division. Probably more profitable as it's a new growth industry. More exciting as well, I suppose.

Couldn't get a permanent position in Intel after 1 1/2 year as GT. Slightly regret leaving, but job scope + instability made me look elsewhere.

Intel always has jobs instability because of its constant internal restructuring.
You need to be able to spot them and migrate to another group.
This is the key survival tactic that my senior friend told me.

True2. Twice was 'promised' permanent position by manager, but both time he couldn't fulfill it due to pressure from upper management to absorb permanent people who had their team shut down. Then ask me to extend contract. After 2nd time, I cabut.
Yeah, only way to survive in Intel is by constantly migrating. But sometimes not lucky because decision comes from higher up to shutdown entire division.

Not a lot considering it was under 50 just 4.5 years ago.

Let's say that AVGO wanted to compete for engineers 5 years ago and offered a 20k a year incentive through RSUs. That meant that they'd probably given you 1600 units of shares to be vested over 4 years for 400/yr. Now, the same engineers would have their final shares vested at about 5X that price. So, instead of 20k a year, they'd be earning 100k a year.

You won't be having similar momentum now like 4.5 years ago.
The failed acquisition of Qualcomm may have given that expected forward trajectory.

Yes, but you were talking about share prices dropping 50 USD.

It's moved up so much in such a short time, 50 USD is less than 20%.

Any supporting claim that it'll move up back to USD 270 level?
At least, I can share your optimistic view to my friends over there.
They're not confident now.
The software company acquisition is rather disappointing strategy to investors.

No one said it's going to move up to 270. Where did I claim that?

I said 50 drop is less than 20% off the peak, considering the 500% rise in 4.5 years or so. Anyone holding for longer than a year would still be in profit.

The moment they rejected Apple as their customer as chipset supplier 10 years back, they are going downwards until now.
