I'm a beginner player still learning to play guitar. Last week I brought my guitar to the shop to change all the strings. All's good the first couple of days but ever since then I notice 2 things:
1) I have to tune the guitar more frequently compared to before
2) The strings feel tight.

for e.g. when I pluck the B and high E strings together when playing a fingerstyle song, I get low faint sound. Anyone knows why this is happening?

I find it very difficult to practise any fingerstyle songs cos of the tight strings.

if u follow the tuner, i believe wherever you go the string tighten is remain same. not so tight or not so loose.

btw, when the guitar always out of tune, maybe ur machine head are not good.

time to replace.

If by tuner, the strings shouldn't be that tight. Must be something wrong with your tuning peg?

If the strings felt stiffer, the shop might have replaced with a higher gauge strings set. Did you specify or he mention what gauge it replaced with?

On a fresh set of strings its normal to have to tune longer, because the strings needs some time to be stretched then only will stay in tune. Usually not the guitar problem..

and now you do, you are probably getting 13s now, get used to that since its the staple standard for most acoustic and especially dreads

Slowly getting used to the strings. I'm currently using a entry level dreadnought guitar.

May I know what would be a good concert size guitar? Thinking to change cos current guitar's body is wide and due to my own physical small body frame, I always felt shoulder strain after practice. Budget ard RM1k. With this type of budget, is it possible to get one that can be plugged into amp? Dont mind to increase budget if need be. But would not spend more than 1.2k overall.

Wanna get some opinions before I go to a guitar shop.

concert...aka folk / orchestra etc actually isn't that small... basically is the same size as classical guitars.
a smaller option is the parlour size....
tanglewood have a few options in all those sizes... rm500-600 with pickup... little bit more get solid top.
cort also have concert sizes around that price... but iirc no parlour.

Parlour is an unconventional but good choice. Must say the look is an acquired taste though. I love them for it's blues/barebones appeal.

I can't get used to my prev folk guitars but eventually happy with a parlour sized Farida H16.

Ok, not sure whether I am understanding this correctly. When I changed my guitar string, the guy told me about availability of full size acoustic guitar but with smaller body suitable for small/petite size people. I asked him what is this type of guitar called...he said Concert guitar.

So basically this term is applicable to Acoustic guitar too right? And not necessarily it meaning folk guitar??

as already mentioned...folk / orchestra / concert...basically same size just diff names.

go try a parlour guitar...i recommend the tanglewood crossroads series...cos it has a 24.75" scale.
if u can still find this brand, recording king, they also got some cheap parlours with even more shorter traditional 24" scale.
gretsch also has one...the jim dandy...around rm700+.
