Is it safe to use metal hose for the shower heater? My wireman installed this for me, he used a metal hose to connect the water outlet to the instant shower inlet

No problem.
Even if there is any problem, the home shower is equipped with ELCB (circuit breaker). Plus, the inlet of the home shower is plastic. There is no connectivity between the home shower and the metal hose. If you're still worried about the metal hose, water inside the hose can also conduct electricity. That's why it has ELCB installed inside. This post has been edited by aidil_fahmi88: Aug 9 2018, 12:48 AM |

Generally ok.
As long as the hose for the hand shower is non conductive. |

QUOTE(PremierToiletTisu @ Aug 9 2018, 12:29 AM) Is it safe to use metal hose for the shower heater? My wireman installed this for me, he used a metal hose to connect the water outlet to the instant shower inlet Yes, it is better change to PVC pipe and not flexible hose. ![]() Or should i do it this way? The picture is showing bad installation. 1) that metal flex hose will conduct electric if the heater is bad. But as long as you didn't touch it, you're ok. But given the picture that flex hose tangle like this, you have the hard time to avoid. Metal flex hose is totally cannot be use for hand shower. 2) That flex hose is too long and bending too step. It reduce the water pressure to the heater. Flex hose have a smaller diameter inner. Use the PVC pipe to connect. Paint it to the wall color. 3) The heater install too low and too near to your hand shower. You will always flash the water on the heater. Better to avoid it even the heater is flashproof. Cause the wire going into the heater is not 100% flashproof. Install it at a higher position away from the hand shower. That way also reduce the PVC pipe lenght and the wire trunking. It will be look nicer. |
