Hi all. New in here. Have looked for existing threads on my questions but can't seem to find anything.

Anyway, is there a thread for Persona SV, or SV owners also in here?

I have a 2014 Persona SV (M), low mileage, just past 29, 900km.

Since the first day I got my car, I noticed the engine randomly revs up to 2 thousand plus, even when stationary and at idle. After a few years, the frequency has did down so now happens very infrequently.

Another issue is that at low revs, the car jerks randomly. So then going usually at slow speed, low rpm, the car jerks. What happens is it suddenly revs up and dies down so the car goes fast slow fast and runs jerkily.

Last perennial problem is the steering column vibrates and rattles annoyingly. Usually it idle on neutral, and also when running at low to medium speeds.

Does anyone else face these problems? Is it just isolated or many owners having these issues?

Thank you.
*
I can vouch for the low rpm jerking issue. Happen to me sometime. Not really bad but quite annoying. Same car SV Manual 2014 model mileage 75k

If your car rear suspension make ngik ngok ngik ngok noise when you naik kereta, it's tulanh anjing rosak already. Even one will also make noise, but usually I change all 4 to save on worksmanship.

Only 4 pcs? I thought rear got long and short one?

Drive from terengganu to kl last night. I felt that my fuel consumption is higher compared to normal. Managed to clock only 350km for a full tank 95 compared to previous around 450 for highway drive. Even need to refuel halfway. Speed maintain around 140kmh. EO is liquimoly semi 10/40. First time using this EO and first time using semi. Might be the eo not suitable?

What oil you used previously, and did you overfill engine oil this round? May I know also your average speed for this particular trip?
*
Previous using shell helix ultra 5w/40. Not sure overfill or not cos never check. Speed average 140kmh. The oil now reaching 7k km. Possible this is the cause? Eo become too thin make it not efficient when cruising around 4k-4.5k rpm? One more thing, I also change the fuel filter last month.

Normal diy, peeled the old yellow layer of fog lamp and making it clear as normal headlamp. Much brighter now especially for the short distance of around 10' in front of the bumper. Last year changed tyres to 195, 55, 15, Looking a bit lowered and sporty, nice handling too.

I have changed to r3 sport spring with ori suspension. Lowered and still comfortable

Should be the same. Tak kisah as long as they solve the oil leaking problem.
On the other topic, anyone here changed their radio head unit? I need one with bluetooth call function to get really clear call quality in car.. Currently am using those cheap AUX in bluetooth receiver but I need to shout for my voice to get through conversation clearly.

Anything i should take note for this?
*
I have changed my HU to Kenwood KMM-BT303 (latest one is 304). This is their entry model for bluetooth head unit (without disc playback since I didn’t use it). Been using it for a year and it is great. There are also other brands with similar features and price range depending on your preference.

I always play music from my phone whenever driving. Even radio also stream online through phone. Been a loyal aux cable user for several years before decided to change to BT enabled head unit. Best decision ever. It does come with mic which will attached nearby so that your voice can be heard clearly when talking through phone.

I'm looking at the KDC-620U. Need the CD player as I got some children song CD for kids during family outings.

My concern is the call quality. Is it sufficient for your caller to hear you without installing the mic? Or if you installed it where you stick it to? I'm thinking of sticking it to top of A pillar, at the corner of windscreen, if the headunit cannot do properly without the mic.

Thanks in advance.
*
AFAIK, if mic is not installed, by default it will use your phone internal mic to capture your voice since the unit doesn't have any mic built in. The quality of course depending on your phone position. If you hold your phone near every time you are speaking through then I guess should be OK.

Currently I installed the mic at the exact same location at pillar at the top corner of the windshield. I've never checked the call quality from caller side but so far they didn't raise any concern on the voice quality. I just speak normally as normal phone conversation.

Hello guys,

Im new here. Currently im driving a Proton persona IAFM B-Line auto 2011, current mileage 75k.

Mods have been to to my car.
1.) gen2 cps Front grile
2.) Sony HU
3.) 6.5 inch Component speakers
4.) Nakamichi 500w RMS Monoblock
5.) Nakamichi 12inch dual voice coil woofer
*
That is quite low mileage for 2011 model. Mine 2014 already 85k. Btw no amp driving the component speaker?

Last week i just change my timing belt at zordaq. They offered me pedal response tuning to increase pedal response. This is my first time did this and suprisingly the response is much improved. Better pickup as well. Car feel much lighter when accelerate. For rm50 it is worth it

Mine 2011 B-Line 430,000km lol..

On a serious note is the pedal response tuning limited to AT only? Can do on MT?
*
Of course. Mine also MT year 2014 SV model.

how did they tune the pedal?  hmm.gif
*
From what i saw the foreman take out the pedal, unscrew cover and connect to a some kind of tablet using cable. Then he tune it using the tablet based on what car model and parameters. Seem like a tricky procedure with several time of on/off the ignition and revving but the person seems like he know what he was doing. In my case took around 10 minutes to complete

ah i see.. i guess he was adjusting the throttle curve or some sort.. did it fix the initial throttle delay?
*
The delay is improved but not totally eliminated

QUOTE(jalanloh @ Feb 8 2019, 09:42 PM)
Ya, component speaker directly wire to my sony HU. I do hav a spare 2ch class ab amp....but im afraid my alternator or batery cant handle...

May i know how much did zordaq charge u for the timing belt replacement including labour? My persona gonna reach 80k km soon.....
*
My component rated 60w rms does give significant difference in performance when connected with amp. Also i think it is not good for your speaker to be in underpower state for a long period of time.

Btw, the timing belt is rm380 incl installation. Part original proton.

I'd say just go for KYB OEM if it's the standard experience you want. But do make note that a lot of workshops and sparepart shops equate persona absorber to gen2 absorber to waja absorber. So make sure you go to KYB website and download their parts number for persona OEM absorber. Gen2 and waja rear absorbers are somewhat shorter and causes the link bush to crack.

I usually change absorber mountings and absorber covers and whatnot all together but people usually don't bother with them.

One thing to note is on the rear sway bar link bush make sure your foreman don't bolt the nut all the way until the end, the bush will just crack. Ini proton technician teach one.
*
This is one great piece of information. I'd always assumed Persona Kayaba is common with Gen2 and Waja since most workshop quoted the same item.

no more annoying sound, that's for sure and the engine is feel like a new one, smoooth. But FC is slightly more than before as I can feel. Last time on highway, the reading was about 7.2l/100km, now almost 8/100km.

Yesterday during heavy rain my airbag indicator lights on around 5 minutes and then turn off by itself. Is it OK to ignore?
