I end up using 5w30.

Not sure is placebo effect or it's real.
I feel more power in acceleration as compared to w40

Anyway I noticed there is a sharp drop in oil price and service cost after geely take over.
5w30 full synthetic syntium 3000 SE is only 189 used to be 22x .
Syntium 3000 5w40 in petronas station is 255

And my cost for the service is only 39 as compared to 60 last time.

just want to share. i only changed the coolant together with timing belt. other than that, nope. and it's working fine. now clocking 190km, so, twice change timing belt, and also twice changing coolant. yes, me too using stock proton coolant..the only thing that i changed on my car is the extractor and the HU. others are stock. even the stock front abs is still performing fine until now. the a/c i never serviced. it's still just as cold. 2011 persona h line.

parts that finally damaged since ownership:
1. drive shaft (left)
2. crankshaft sensor
3. Rear abs

and, that's it.

mine damaged on the inner side. the one connected on the gearbox. on physical inspection, you'll notice there's freeplay on the driveshaft. but obviously, you'll only notice that if you uninstall it from your car.
while driving, you'll notice your car shake when you push your car torquey2 a bit. ha ha. or, like mine, on 100kmh, my left side of my car will vibrate like hell. even the front passenger seat is vibrating.

normally, if you hears that tak tak tak sound during cornering, usually it's the cv joint.

What is the suitable grade oil for persona ? current mileage is 60k , using 10w40 semi synthetic now ... Plan to change to fully synthetic , is it worth ? Since i travel highways alot , is it better to use 10w40 although it's semi synthetic ? Since the car will be used to travel long distance most of the time, will 5w40 and 10w40 offer the same level of protection when the engine is hot ?

My car battery just died today after 5 years..dash board lamp on but no starter sound..i think need to  change new one already..what brand good?
