Yesterday have to start many times and the engine seems macam tak ada minyak petrol, need to pump the accelerate pedal many times than ok. What could that caused by?

Me too after my intake valve adjusted, I can feel fuel consumption a bit higher but can't give how much higher it is compare to the previous. But from fuel estimate reading, 7.1l/100km for highway is still good to have.

Any particular reason for you to adjust intake valve?
*
knocking sound at the iafm, done by the doris racing at the valve side.

Mine only at RM180, as what I can see they just did some adjustment, took out something and put it back, without replacing any new parts. A 15 mins job and no longer have knocking sound.

how much will it cost ? and is it easy to change ?

Mine sometime ok sometime not ok. Already unplug the socket and plug back tight, but still the same.
*
Changed mine at about RM70+ at the SC, the old actuator sometime cannot engage or disengage to the door latch.

Seen that video before, just don't have enough time to open up the door cover yet.
Recently a bit busy removing the small black ants under my dashboard, was looking at the nest.

First time posting. Thank you very mucchie thumbup.gif
p/s - pls tell me the 2009 persona is relatively problem free... whistling.gif

wow, you got a huge budget over there. But I would recommend to give priority to any engine parts first rather than any comestics. I believe 2009 is a gen2 version am I right?

umm not sure, its a full sized sedan gray color. Not gen 2.

I only have rm2500 to spend the rest will have to wait until September.

So i want to do the mounting, lights and Hu first, i cant take to see the bit of yellowish on lights  biggrin.gif

oh yes the aircon blower too, its cold but a bit weak in blowing air out - Proton Glen said its Rm444 for the blower.

When i drove it today slight vibration going on the engine and dash. But very very solid sturdy car, reminds me of the polo sedan feel when driving.

is this car "'iafm"? and must i do anything in the engine area...like change something?
*
full sedan, I am imagine of persona gen2, smaller front grill and rounded pattern at rear lamps. IAFM is an intake tech used by proton, sometime produced tak tak sound from it. You can look from youtube about that, worst the butterfly valve broken and drop into the intake.
You can scroll few pages, many useful infos you can gather from the whole.

Btw how do i upload video ...
*
not all mechanics know well about proton campro engine, hopefully yours are really good at it. Things to observe are, iafm knocking sound, rocker gasket, purge canister sound, body throttle and some others sort of sensor.

hi guys minor update...got my car

got balancing alignment done but after that .. car was vibrating when i release gas pedal

not sure if the rims issue or something else

by the time i got home in subang - strange noise from the engine bay
*
I got a feel the vibration is due to rubber engine mounting when at low rpm or idling. The infamous noise of our persona usually came from any of this either iafm, purge canister or belt retention. The mechanic can tell you which of it need to be care of. Good luck.

Last week I asked the pomen from the YouTube how to encounter fuel consumption when we disabled the butterfly of the intake, he told me to install the fuel regulator. Anyone know about this?

Not really have knowledge on this.  hmm.gif
But y need to disable the butterfly?
I thought it's a set pair together with the IAFM unit?
*
afaik, getting rid of knocking sound of our IAFM, there is not actual of repairing of it, except of changing to the new or the used working one. Most mechanics out there either they are changed to new intake, or intake without the butterflies in it, or disable the valve for playing with butterflies anymore. We have a retard module without working butterflies in order to get rid of tak tak sound. On negative side, our FC may increase from normal. That's the case of my car as I have been told by my mechanic who did the job.

I just change the IAFM...cost me RM580  bangwall.gif

yup that's the price. In fact I was given few choices before, go to imitation unit at RM500+, or original from Proton at RM800+ or disabled the butterfly at RM180. I went to the cheapest one.

disable the butterfly is cost lesser than change whole set IAFM.
change new IAFM still the problem will haunt back.
disable the butterfly = use back old IAFM but with side effect, like powerwoot say.
*
no more annoying sound, that's for sure and the engine is feel like a new one, smoooth. But FC is slightly more than before as I can feel. Last time on highway, the reading was about 7.2l/100km, now almost 8/100km.

8.0 highway drive is quite high? Average speed?
*
7.8 at 130 - 140kmh, but there was time last month the FC was 7.2 during my ride to JB. I guess the FC reading is not an ultimate as a benchmark. The filling is, last time my RM50 and now RM60 for the same place and distance.
