Guys, any idea market price of new alternator for our Persona? Proton quoted me about RM800 inclusive of worksmanship. While i saw on Lazada offfering new branded alternator as cheap as RM260.

Go overhaul much cheaper, search forum for alternator overhaul thread. But if your distance too far then don't take the risk because you're rely on battery to powered your car.

Thanks bro, I'm long distance traveller. Clocked 381,783km as of now since 2011. I would rather opt for new parts due to bad aftertaste on reconditioned parts when i was driving Iswara before buying Persona.

Got a new APM alternator from spare part shop i usually go for RM430.

But it doesn't looked like original alternator that's swapped out. Could be counterfeit or APM version of OEM alternator. I'll use until it breaks then opt for 300+ taiwan alternator next time.

By the way guys, just did an enquiry with PESC Larkin, our persona knock parts like bonnet cover & fender panel no longer in production from proton plant. So if you involved in accident like me then you will get non original body panel from your panel workshop.

Thinking of changing the timing belt, car is about 5 yrs + , clocked 69k km so far . Should i chnage it now ? or can i chnage it later ? maybe anout reaching 80k km ? Any other things to be changed together with the timing belt ? What's the estimated cost if i do it at proton sc ?

Might need your mechanics to inspect your timing belt for you to decide to change it now or still can wait.

Usually the job that done together with timing belt set is water pump. But then if your coolant is clean & no rust, water pump no leaking, you can use until next timing belt change or it leak.

Another optional change is your drive belt tensioner. That can be changed easily if you decided to change it next time when it spoil.

Cost you need to ask. I have no memory of it already LOL.

Shouldn't semi synthetics be 7000km or 1 year whichever comes first?

Is there a way to put the rear seat shoulder safety belt to "lock mode" to install baby car seat? Anybody know how?

No way there bro... You just can try to retract the belt back as maximum as you can and try by pulling babyseat. Make it tight.

This car is a pleasure to drive. But not so comfy for rear seat passenger.

You are right, my Persona still going strong despite some wear and tear.

Too bad its not quite baby car seat "compatible", no seat belt auto lock, no top tether and no isofix.

So guys, after I changed all engine mounting, the car is quiet like new!
However, I can feel vibration when aircond compressor kicks in, obvious especially idling.

Is there any mounting/bush that can be changed to fix this?
