This is what I use currently..... https://www.brabantia.com/int_en/laundry-dr...y-cottonflower/Sorry if I added the above link wrongly from the brabantia website. It used to hold my steam generator iron before it got spoilt. Now just using a steam iron. This post has been edited by jerung72: Aug 6 2018, 08:37 AM

Don't use tap water, use distilled water instead. It prevents limescale formation at vents because distilled water has zero mineral. As for water mark, I can only think of two possible reasons, either your tap water is too hard or the cleanliness of the board cover. Try use only distilled water and change a new colorless board cover. Also don't forget to descale ( press descale button on your iron) your Philips iron first before pouring in distilled water. Once you start using distilled water, you will never need to descale your steam iron again. Get the distilled water from AEON or AEON Big @ 90sen per 1.5l bottle.

(probably thin foam or lousy iron board design). have ordered a new ironing board, hope it will help. but thanks for the advice. will get some distilled water to reduce limescale build up
