Bubble and Hair in the tinting. Here is the execuse they give.
1) The guy doing the job is skillful, because very little hair and bubble
2) We only can remove the bubble but the hair will still be there.
3) Replacing tint will damage your security film

What a lame execuse bangwall.gif

I tinted with them because my SA recommended... I did notice some really small bubbles but otherwise it’s pretty good so far. How bad are your bubbles? Mind sharing a pic?

You probably do not aware that many of the brands are subsidiary of one big company. The tint film used by:
1) LLumar
2) Vista
3) EnerLogic
4) V-KOOL
5) IQue
6) Hüper Optik
7) Sun-X
8) nanoLux
9) Gila
10) FormulaOne High Performance Auto Tint

are all made by Solutia which owned by Eastman Chemical Company

https://www.eastman.com/Pages/solutia.aspx

The 3M is produced by #M as it is a big company by itself. SolarGard is owned by Saint Gobain performance plastic company https://www.plastics.saint-gobain.com/. Sun-Gard is just another brand name for Madico, which is a big company that produce tint film mainly.

The name you said copy is actually original. Ecotint (M) Sdn. Bhd is the distributor for Madico film.

Now there are many brands in the market. Many want to established own name by buying China products. biggrin.gif They maybe good and may not be as good. Just stick to known brand. If they have warranty, why not. The problem with unknown name is that we don't know if the brand will still exist within warranty period. laugh.gif

The SA get commission. The tint shop will approach SA so that they get business from new car owner. By putting in package, which most customer think is a good deal, the price is already included. It is good to ask what brand and which shop do the tinting. Tinting need training and experience. The tint should be done in dust free environment, not shop with open door. smile.gif

Just Googled and found out it is under Commonwealth Laminating & Coating, Inc. which was also acquired by Eastman Chemical Company smile.gif

When I clicked www.commonwealthlaminating.com, it is redirected to https://www.suntekfilms.com/Default.aspx

As you can see though many brands, it is monopolized by a big company laugh.gif

Aware of Eastman group, but are all the companies under it's umbrella providing equal quailty products?

Why solar Gard went on my list of "copy"? A few cars from next department actually use it and the tint just peeled itself with some silver color residue.. strange.

Agreed with your last paragraph as the tint experience is also depending on workmanship.

It is just different brands have different grade. Eastman bought the company which may ahve been producing the tint film already. So, basically Eastman is just investor smile.gif

As long as it is peeling under warranty, you can get replacement. V-Kool in my previous car bubbled before warranty expired too and I get replacement. Even V-Kool gradually lose its ability to block heat over time. The worst is the cheap one. Probably after 1~2 years, it is basically useless, even though it looks cool laugh.gif

SA get comm paid by shop. this one is outside from their car sales commission. SA dont spend a thing. all they need to do is bring the customer to the shop saying he/she recommend this shop and just by quoting his/her name, can get "special" price. that's how they identify who to give comm to.

But this is considered "free gift" for purchasing car isnt it? SA will give a voucher for tinting and bring to shop to choose i guess below rm600 package.
if customer doesnt want to "upgrade" then dont need to pay a single cent.

then i suppose the car dealer has a deal with those tint shop then. i guess when car dealer found out that their SA gets a cut by introducing tint to tint shop, they also want a cut laugh.gif

that is why when go tint shop, their price tag there is like cut throat price but for crappy tint only. if you're walk in customer, they will say can give huge discount. but if you're there to claim the so called "voucher", they say the price is harga mati. u want u take u dun wan u waste that voucher lo. either way since you already upgraded, for sure they will get their cut.

A colleague of mine did his Swift with Solar Gard LX70 for front windscreen and LX55 for the rest of the car a few years ago and so far it's still good. No peeling, no bubbles, nothing. So he's pretty happy about it. Lol... thumbup.gif
