For me, a fast lens is crucial especially since i prefer natural lighting alot, i.e, 17-55mm f/2.8, and maybe a 70-200mm f/2.8. <== if you have the budget
add a sb-800, and that's a pretty good setup.
Really depends what you want to shoot. You need to be more specific.

Then you can decide if you want to go to the wider or tele-end later. Both ways, you might want to keep the 50mm anyway. Or after that you can decide if an 18-200mm VR suits you instead.

the 50mm is one of Nikon's sharpest lens, its advisable to always keep it even though you rarely use it anymore. And trust me, starting with the 50mm is a good start and hey, reverse it with this and you'll have cheap macro around

He definitely can't get that price if he demands a Manfrotto leh. But I have heard of some forumers saying that they got the D80 Kit for RM4000 with 2Gb SD card but without the tripod. TS, before buying lenses and other accessories, make sure you know what kind of photography are you into as well. No use you buy a lense and then you hardly use it otherwise if you have the $$$ and you want to get a lens for bragging rights. Carefully consider what is your subject before choosing your lens. Read through the forums here and check out the photo gallery, we have plenty of pros who post their photos and what lens they use to take the photo with.

Bintang Maju promo price is $4688 (w/installment) for the standard package of body+kit+2gb (keep)+bag(nikon)+tripod. Been finding the best deal to buy this beauty with other add-on (flash & lens).

As someone mentioned before, dont bother about the Sakura Tripod, its too flimsy, would you want to have something that costs you 4k sitting on something that might topple over on the slightest bump?

Look at all my stars!!

here's my 2 cents for you. For the UV filter, don't get cheap stuff...in fact...dont ever get cheap stuff for filter...not all HOYA are good, only the HMC and S-HMC are worth the $$ and I learnt this from the hard way...(ghosting and flares from Hoya filter).
Next, you have to consider what kind of format you will be shooting...jpeg or RAW. Memory card makes a difference, and if what you are getting is a blue color kingston I suggest you forget about it especially if you are shooting RAW. I took my gf's cheap ordinary kingston out by mistake yesterday...it took some time for the camera to write all the raw files to the card. My primary card is a 150X trascend 2gb and it is helluva faster than the kingston.
Don't cut corners and pay for those bundled stuff if you can.
