I never been to this 3 Damansara mall but i saw some good tenants there like Oliver Gourmet, GSC etc . and it's managed by Capital Mall.
Do you guys think it's good to open a food booth over there. How's the crowd over there?

Im also looking at other malls such as Sunway Velocity ,NU Sentral, IOI Putrajaya, Mytown, etc but wonder which one have more populations now.
thanks

IMO, Nu sentral > IOI Putrajaya > Sunway Velocity > MyTown > 3 Damansara Mall

Btw, what type of food booth you want to open? Halal or Non Halal? If Halal then IOI Putrajaya first If Non Halal then Sunway Velocity first.

I have been to all 5 malls above. Nu Sentral got a lot of tourist or traveller since it is linked to Le Meridien / Hilton hotel and KL Sentral Station.

I work next door (Damansara Intan). There is a slow steady stream of office workers , it's enough to survive as long as your food is reasonably cheap, tastes good and fast service. But there's no bustling crowd as there's nothing to do there. In office block there are just 3 kopitiam (1 of each MCI) and a few food trucks.

I'd rate it the same as Atria , sustained by working crowd (walking distance) .

I think with Starling mall, this tropicana/3damansara is affected badly by it.. went there for the past months , so many empty shops and footfall is horrible

Donโ€™t be too hopeful of this mall. The F&B is only relying on office people to sustain their business. And even then, some office people in this area choose to go out elsewhere which is relatively close by to have lunch. Like uptown, ttdi, ss2.

the crowd at 3 damansara is really slow even during weekdays. only some shops that are constantly full are nandos, sushi tei and power plant after working hours. it all depends what are you opening actually. but it could be said to be a hit or miss opportunity.

I like to do burritos , something like hot and rollz but with different twist. Its halal. I been to NU sentral but its not easy to get a good spot there. I take your advise and put this in my no 1 list. Second is ioi putrajaya. Suneay velocity, is it good on weekend only or even on weekday? I heard the top floor are not so good.

Try mytown or Sunway velo liao. Got local and office worker go shops shops. Mrt connection very ok ler. Crowd seems ok especially the connection to mrt done. Now 2 malls can connect each other. Very good.

Nu sentral. Memang aim for office workers only. Sat and Sun very manyak Mati.

ioi city mall can try try geh. Secluded abit. Public transport susah Sampai. Crowd there not bad geh. Weekdays got workers and weekends got families. Saw manyak japs and korean stay hotel there and business meeting at the hotel lobby.

3 damansara mean 3 burning scent sticks. Mean pray pray Mati RIP.

Belum buka already sure go West liao. Mean your business can transfer to another dimension world.

If you want weekday crowded with ppl, Nu Sentral is your first choice. Other mall i think mostly weekend will have more patrons. 3 Damansara on weekend also less patrons, so not a wise choice to set up a food booth there.

if you really wanna open at 3 damansara, choose the location wisely either LG floor or G floor.. don't go for 1st floor and above.. less human walk around and good luck to your biz.

velocity is quiet on weekdays.. and yes.. some shops located at the very top floor has closed down..

nu sentral rental is damn expensive.. you need to generate a lot of sales otherwise you wont last long in that mall.. but if your food is good and reasonable price.. I think shouldn't be a major problem..

ioi is ok

I think it boils down to what you sell.

obviously a dead mall is a dead mall, better don't touch no matter how cheap is the rent.

i do agree with you on this. there are certain places i am looking at outside the mall. places like the petrol station areas before going up to Genting. There's plenty of cars buying food over there before going up.
Genting highland also a good spot for hungry tourist.

Also make sure that the rental is not too exorbitant, otherwise you won't be making much net profit from your sales.

just got back from recce in putrajaya ioi mall. Generally, the location of this mall is way out of reach to many people but it's still good . think the food area downstairs are good but not upstairs . some of the booth upstairs were struggling even on sat. some of the downstairs one also not that great. The management are too greedy, renting out the center to do Cart have caused some shops their business. Those cart selling toys, a lot of junk stuff like Airplane model , scarf , bags etc.. And the major problem when choosing a big mall is that you are going battle with many F&B corporates with strong financial backup.

Good to know that you have conducted your research and due diligence as all mall management think about is collecting their rental on time. They can be very ruthless and stone hearted, so be careful not to burn your deposits and money by making a wrong decision.

Can consider Sunway Velocity for F&B business. But mostly laku ones are restaurants rather than bars/serve drinks only. Friday afternoon crowd is mostly students, then night is family. Weekend is very packed, and most of the time restaurants are quite packed also, other than those that are pricey and horrible pricey foods of course. Can forget about MyTown btw

And I thought IOI Putrajaya is slowly dying? lol

Halal or not Halal doesn't matter lah. If foods are good sure got people eat one haha. Some more the traffics in Sunway Velocity is quite good also, so janji tasty can ady.

Except TS's idea is targeting solely on Malays lah. Then yeah, MyTown is better or those shopping malls like Alamanda with higher traffic from Muslims/Malay
