bro, like to check with u something about audio with new AVR's... i think u hv it.

i read somewhere that this DTS Neural X is a new remixing option like THX, PLII but better.

i.e. if the audio track is not so good like aac2.0, dolby 5.1, dts neural x will be able to remix it very well.

how good is it compared to older remixes settings?

Another question on audio for those who connect the box to TV via HDMI and to stereo amp via RCA.
Intend to use media player to play music thru external HD.
However i only hv music coming thru TV and not to the amp.
What do i hv to change for music to come thru amp only (ie zero.volume on TV)?

It should work if u connect the red and white rca from box to amp.

This is stereo analogue, independent of the hdmi and spdif coaxial or toslink outputs.

Rca audio output volume is fixed, u control with your amp.

Alternative.... if yr amp has spdif input, use them, u get digital audio, better.

I think it really depends on the source. It might be marginally better than the older options but ur mileage can vary. Dolby's new matrixing option for Dolby Surround Upmixer is also pretty good. Some work better with DTS Neural X some work better with Dolby Surround Upmixer.

Old school amp...no spdif. ...😁. Might consider RPI + DAC with spdif for low cost solution.

However the tv has to be on n the music will play from tv as well (btw sharp 6800 thks to yr recommendation).

Hv to mute tv coz if lower volume then overall volume reduced. Nd tv on for song selection purposes.

The good news is i believe the sound quality thru Q10 to amp is much better than playing from laptop to amp! Any idea if thr Q10 had a build in DAC?

tv has to be on... maybe not.

next time u try, play Q10pro, turn off tv, give it a few seconds.

the audio should return as it is still playing, audio out from rca.

unless the tv CEC is messing with it - which u can try changing the settings in the TV.


don't really know the inside but yes, himedia native player has always been excellent becos they were initially a media player co.

even my 8 yr old Q5ii is able to do BDMV, DTSHDMA, DDtrueHD delivering great video and audio with doing local playback.

many new boxes can't even do DTS!

For q10pro, u can surely tell even astrgo video comes out better with the box than using app in the sharp androidtv.

When u get a full home theater, u can have video + audio nirvana with concerts in 4khdr bdmv + lossless hd audio... something i do quite a lot!

find the gear icon (setting), there should be network setup then u can disable ur wifi and enable your ethernet.

For my case i had tried both but still faint.. i suspect my NIC failed. So no lan for me.. only Wifi..

since bought I only use via wifi
but on last sunday, my home unifi wifi got prob slow and intermittent
but my unifi tv running smoothly using lan
so I switch the lan cable from unifi tvbox into q10
unfortunately q10 setting lan connection failed...
just wondering if any special setting needed

as far as i know no.. only the network setting that i had mentioned.. many other shifu may have some input for you.
