Hi,

I bought 50 inch c655 as a PC monitor during the recent 9-9 offer. I also owned OLED, Samsung Quantum Dot TVs in other rooms.
C655 is suitable in my setup as my room has medium brightness.
For the money, it is a very good value with deep wide color saturation, good deep blacks, good contrast ratio, good brightness ( I am using brightness of 60 out of 100 ) and sharp also.
Tested Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10 plus all working.
HDR and Dolby Vision tone mapping are quite well implemented with good shadow details.
The colors really pop with good color volume
I am using Game Mode with a PC , text is sharp, PC gaming (4k at 60hz) has minimal lag.

With discount, I think is a strong buy.
Thanks.

Hi,

Thinking of getting 98 inch C855. Can any one advise on its picture quality, any motion issues at 24hz,25hz etc , reliability and its bultin media player hardware performance e.g. is the user interface laggy etc?
Thanks.

Hi,

c655 is quite a good TV considering is price bracket...good wide color volume, good sharpness minor tweaking to get good accuracy and support many formats.
Only thing due to its brightness of arnd 400 nits....you can only use in moderate lit room . If room very bright with a lot of lights or direct sun light, may not be suitable.
Also it upscaling of 1080p or lower quality video to 4k is pretty ok but not as good as Samsung or Sony.
Being a native 60hz panel, motion is ok for most people but not as good those with native 120hz panel.

TCL initial first start from power off to power on is not fast. But you can enable Quick Start mode if leave your TV in standby. It will turn back on almost in an instant

Dear sifu, am eyeing for TCL C855 75", gonna grab it either next month or next Jan.

Just curious if anyone purchased C855 as well? I am curious about the ports (especially antenna port as I still watched lots of local tv shows) and the remote control.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

I am using the 98 inch version in a dedicated ht dark room..To me PQ is better than LG C4 with higher contrast with similar black levels but you need to configure the right setting but I am not using antenna port as it is lightning prone..If you still want to use better use an external decoder box and connect via HDMI which is safer.
However c855 upscaling of non 4k source material while good for most people but is not as good as Sony, Samsung and LG TVs of similar tier.
If your viewing mainly non-4k broadcast sources, I will suggest either a Sony or Samsung which excels in upscaling.
For me it does not matter as I am using a high end video processor to upscale for non-4k source and most of my viewing are 4k sources.

Hi,

No problem. Please take note c855 is using high contrast VA panel. Unlike IPS panel it does not have very wide viewing angle (similar issues with Sony and Samsung miniLED VA panels which does not have wide angle filter)
Viewing directly in front is no issue for the picture quality.
But if you view at more extreme angle from sides, there will be color and brightness washout
Example main sofa in front of TV is ok but if side sofa to the left or right at 90 degrees of main sofa, picture quality will degrade.

Hi,

If you are looking at real 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 bandwidth implementation which support 4k120hz or 4k144hz, only the 98 inch model of C655 supports it as it comes with 4k 120hz panel.
Other TCL models which support it are C755 or C855.
Usually TVs with specs such as support 4k VRR 144hz have true HDMI 2.1 implementation.
Thanks.

Hi,

TCL Malaysia usually does not offer best price . If you are keen on 75C755 you can try call authorized seller near your home to bargain and at lazada you might find them cheaper at other retailers.
Most of them their pricing are better than TCL Malaysia even after TCL discount. Thanks.

C655 (non 98 inch) first boot up upon powered on is quite slow..but you can enable quick start after to speed up boot up time from power standby! Have fun

Bought 75" C855 from local store, RM9xxx, with extra free RM300 TnG credit + 3 years warranty.

So far very satisfied, the TV really outperformed my previous TVs, with very solid built quality in every aspects biggrin.gif
