Managed to upgrade to V8-R51TMT05-LF1V620.021315.

Was anything new added to that firmware?

Just curious but are these updates are officially from TCL? I try to update with the TV by itself but it never tells me there is new update unless I look for one here.

Good to hear but still I wonder why TCL not make it easy to download the firmware with their online update within the TV OS.

Your TV if you check the hardware info, got info like this "V8-R51MT05-LF1V576.021120" ?

What is on yours?

I guess it looks compatible since the firmware also refer to the same ID, which is V8-R51MT05.

Besides that what he posted include the C725 series.

I already use the firmware and so far no problem.

I buy at store but the price is no difference and also added cost if use courier to deliver. I don't think online price can be much cheaper than TCL partner shops as it would hurt their (store owner) business.

I have the TCL C645, so far looks good but can't say how it is compared to Xiaomi.

Durability hard to say because unit is still new so have to wait for years to see which will be problem will come first as it could be the screen or the motherboard.

I don't use iPhone so cannot help. Only this info was available.

Might be Asia model not support. No choice but to use Apple TV box.

I suggest get tv with strong extended warranty support from reputable shops. Pay the extra year warranty that promise you free repair or 1 to 1 swap.

Nowadays its hard to know which tv will last longer.

I am not that pro about this but adding fan means the tv will suck more air from the outside and introducing more dust inside the tv. That means you have to often open up your tv just to clean it.

Last time I check its only up to this. I am not so sure if this is suitable for your unit so you have to verify elsewhere.
