QUOTE(wshoh @ May 16 2023, 02:58 PM) TCL C635 65" - lowest pricewatched at RM2,399.00 from HLK (not sure if inclusive of delivery). I snagged a TCL C635 55" at slightly under RM1,999.00 with free delivery from Viewnet @ LZD prior to 5.5 sales. how long have u use n how's ur review on TCL C635 sir? im interested to get one based on the spec but afraid can tahan or not with their customer service review tak tau okay tak. Both of these are now out of stock from HLK and Viewnet but generally, with the help of stacked discount vouchers from LZD, you should be able to find the TCL C635 55" at roughly RM2,200.00 and the 65" at approximately RM2,700.00 if you shop hard enough. To help out fellow LYN users, the Hisense U7H can be obtained at around RM2.5k for the 55" and RM3k for the 65" - prices online often go up and down and you can always add to cart and wait for a good deal - not necessarily during the usual monthly sales. Depends on your budget? I set mine to under RM3,000.00 and my expectations accordingly If you are on a higher budget ie above RM4k, sure you can look at the TCL mini led models but I have enough viewing experience with a Sony A80K 65" OLED (approx RM8.7k or lower after promo if you know where to look) to know that I want OLED and its perfect black levels at higher price levels. Higher end screens also come with better anti glare coatings, be warned that the TCL C635 is quite reflective (glossy and probably to compensate for its lack of brightness) and will be annoying if you are unable to adjust/dim your room lighting. Did you know that you could get a LG OLED C2 48" under RM4k and previous-previous generation 55" Sony A80J at around RM5k (now that the Sony A80L is out)? And if 120Hz high refresh rate is not relevant to you, you could consider the less expensive LG A1/A2 models too. I dare say that prosumers with a budget under RM3k seeking for value for money as regards TV models in the 55" and 65" size range (officially available in Malaysia) are basically left with 2 options: TCL C635 (QLED/VA) or Hisense U7H (FALD/IPS). Toshiba's M550LP is said to be less bright (than claimed by manufacturer) while Sony's X85K (with arguably better image processing despite lack of FALD) is at a different price level. I saw the U7H at Harvey Norman but it just didn't convince me, be your own arbiter I don't game, so U7H's 120Hz capability doesn't affect me and the TCL C635 can do 1440p 120Hz (2560 x 1440) anyway (which is what the PS5 is capable of). Do note that the TCL C635 'fake' 120Hz refresh rate is not applicable to the smaller size models eg 50". Also, I chose the TCL C635 as my TV watching habits are mainly at night (for single/2 pax) and I have control over lighting. For primarily daytime use or TV placement in a bright area and viewing by multiple people ie more than 2 persons, the Hisense U7H may be a better choice as it is supposed to be brighter and IPS tech will have better viewing angles. Finally, the operating system of these budget TVs do not factor into my consideration as long as it has an eARC port - i still had RM1k in my budget for the latest Apple TV 4K (2022) which i purchased for RM630.90 from Thundermatch @ LZD (official price RM699) (64GB wi-fi only model) and don't forget to add on inexpensive 90/270 degree angle HDMI 2.0 cables from UGREEN/Vention - currently, i have not seen any HDMI 2.1 cables with 90/270 degree angle adapter. For what it is worth, the Google TV interface on the TCL C635 is alright and works…but very quickly shows signs of lag/delay. Apple TV 4K has a much better user interface imho and is just super responsive and speedy plus I trust the A15 chip and Apple's colour balance calibration (despite whatever criticism) feature and image processing over TCL's. Plus you get all the benefits of Apple's ecosystem (HDMI CEC control through your iPhone/iPad via software remote, Airplay and HomePod Dolby Atmos/Airpods spatial audio/Apple Fitness+). I would have gotten the ATV 4K (2022 - 3rd gen) 128GB ethernet model with Thread radio if it was in stock though - well, not complaining that i saved at least RM100 and anyway, 5Ghz wifi has always been reliable and fast even for my ATV 3rd generation from 2012 as well as ATV 4K (2017 - 1st gen). You can save even more with an ATV 4K (2021 - 2nd gen) if you browse Amazon (approx USD$99) |

QUOTE(azlanothman @ May 19 2023, 09:39 AM) This would be subjective imho - since everyone has different preferences as to the kind of picture they like. But if you are talking about colour accuracy, you need proper calibration tools. As for me, I first selected the movie preset and then applied the balanced setting after calibrating via iPhone/Apple TV 4K - this only applies to video output from the Apple TV 4K unlike calibration at TV level. The Apple TV 4K balanced picture is slightly warmer to my eyes.QUOTE(shakirpark @ May 22 2023, 10:46 AM) how long have u use n how's ur review on TCL C635 sir? im interested to get one based on the spec but afraid can tahan or not with their customer service review tak tau okay tak. About a month in use, give or take [in conjunction with Apple TV 4K (2022 - 3rd gen 64GB Wi-Fi only model)] and I stream video from Netflix (4K premium plan), YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and Plex. Satisfactory is how I would still describe it. Voice control via Siri (on iPhone/Siri remote) to turn on/off the TV/select app/search by voice) is very good and reliable.TCL C635? Umm, the specifications fits the price. Price performance wise, under RM3k, i don't think you can find better value for these sizes ie 55" and 65". Hisense U7H is the closest competitor at the same price point, unless you wanna roll the dice and self-import China only models via TaoBao. Both @minano0001 (who owns a 65" version iirc) and myself checked out the aforesaid well regarded (for its price) Hisense U7H at Harvey Norman but we were both unimpressed - you may have a different opinion so go check it out for yourself. Sure, there are probably better models such as the Sony X85K but nobody usually thinks a comparison between a Myvi and a Vios is fair. It is also ridiculous to compare the much higher priced OLED/mini LED/QD-oled models with these budget picks as those premium models are next level. For sure more money gets you better but there is also diminishing returns and you alone decide how much a feature is worth to you. The built in Onkyo tv speakers of the TCL C635 are actually decent and serviceable (as well as loud enough) - i connect an old Klipsch Promedia GMX A-2.1 for when i want more bass. Waiting to add HomePod v2 in stereo pair to complete the setup This post has been edited by wshoh: May 24 2023, 03:48 PM swatch10 liked this post

QUOTE(WhatMan @ May 26 2023, 12:00 AM) I wonder how long will TCL bring in the new model after the announcement. Been hunting for new TV for a while now. Yeah, a bit slow... my parents was looking for a new TV and I thought wanna wait for TCL C83/84. In the end, bought Samsung 65 inch QN95B for them for RM6850 via Samsung online store. It makes my X90J looks mediocre. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ May 27 2023, 01:09 PM) This is lower end model. Only 200 or so zones compared to C845 which is supposed to have 570zones (65"). I wonder if they will bring in higher end model or just stick with lower end. The model numbering can be confusing to me who is new to the brand. I think this video showcase what the C845 will bring. Now just have to wait for release date and price. |
