*HOW TO INSTALL*
Preparation:
- USB drive has to be FAT32 (NTFS)
- it should contain nothing else than the firmware
- prefer using the USB 2.0 slot on your tv (For new models with Pentonic USB 3.0 is proper TV input)
- prefer using a USB 2.0 drive
- if it fails, re-download the file again
- if it still fails, try another usb drive
- Use a windows pc, no macos as macos unzips it wrong automatically
- disable developer options in the android settings if it fails
*OTA* (this will NOT wipe any data)
1. Download zip
2. copy zip to USB Drive (FAT32)
3. plug it in the TV
4. in the settings -> update -> choose local update
*IMG (also known as PKG)* (this will wipe your android data)
1. Download zip
2. unpack zip file (contains one "update.img" file) & copy to USB (FAT32)
3. plug it in the tv
4. shut down the TV by pressing and holding the power button on the remote until a „shut down“ pop up appears (or unplug TV from power).
5. then press & hold the power button on the TV (not remote) for 10-15 seconds (or plug TV to power back), until the LED start flashing and appear blue installation screen,then wait for it to be installed.
The power button is on EVERY TV, can be found most of the time bellow the front status LED in the middle of the TV or behind TV.
Note.... latest R51MT05 platform OTA file is V601......Post #998 Btw, I running (on my C635), latest beta V999 OTA ,posted yesterday...so far no problem.  ah, silly me, I forgot to unzip it   the beta version stable one boh? |

Weird, the beta OTA file not able to detect or update let me restart TV and see how. by right should not have this error because not the first time using same pendrive/USB port to update.. hmm... |

Need advice as follows:
1.What are the recommendations for 75 or 85 inch?
(Sitting distance is about 4 meters)
2. Are they upcoming models coming into our market soon? timeline?
3. wait for newer model (im not in any rush)?

Here they're still selling C645, C845 and C755 (C755 is the same as C805, different naming for different region only)
Premium high end models such as C955 and X955 won't be coming i suppose3. wait for newer model (im not in any rush)? Buy only when you need it as tech stuff are getting cheaper or better with newer models - keep track of price first, aim for major sales event on lazada/shopee |

The Dolby vision IQ can turn off motion clarity already, then the dolby precision plus makes everything sharper. Hi need help on "DTS-HD Decoding" written on the TCL website for C645. I have Onkyo TX-sr252 only have arc. I am playing the video using TV app. i.e. Just player with portable HDD Thinking of buying a EARC convertor to get DTS-HD MA by the EARC port to the receiver. So far i tried DTS with ARC no problems getting regular DTS on the receiver. I can't test this myself, any TCL owners here able to use EARC using the TV app players and pass the DTS HD MA audio to receiver, Thanks in advance. Where do you guys buy TCL TV (besides online)?

been eyeing for TCL 55" QLED 4K Google TV C645 rm2499 thru their official store ( shopee ) .. i will use this tv mostly for gaming ( ps5 , xbox series x , switch etc. ) , blu ray movies ( 4k ultra hd blu ray , Full hd / hd blu ray ) , Streaming such as Netflix etc.
My max budget around rm3000 , anyone use this tv ? how was it ?

My reference point is a 13 year old tv. So any TV is going to be a step up. Got the 50" C645 recently, its looks good especially in DV. Bought for RM1470 +- . It think the TCL OS Shopee lowest i saw was RM18k+- for the 55" RM3k may consider u7k or u6k |
