Planning to upgrade my car to C-segment compact mid size SUV, budget about 150k and looking for new car only. Not interested with used car nor those way above the budget...

Any comments or review on the following few cars? If happened to have few SUVs, the comparison will be even better.  Thanks smile.gif

1. Mazda CX5 2.5 GLS
2. Honda CRV 1.5TP
3. Volkwagen Tiguan 1.4HL
4. Hyundai 1.6 Turbo

I've tested 1,2,3 and Subaru Forester. The views shared by the other forumers are valid but to really answer your question, I think it depends on what stage in life are you using the car i.e. whether to fit a family comfortably or just a SUV mainly for front passengers.
If it's for a family, factors like boot size, rear ac vents, legroom will matter more. Otherwise things like drive and performance may come into play more.

The other decision that will really help you zoom in is on whether you plan to take advantage of the GST free period to upgrade. If the answer is yes, your choices are limited because 2 and 3 are sold out. For 1 and 4, they will absorb SST if you book in August. I'm not sure about the availability of Forester now but Forester has a lower price point even with SST and it's well speced.

I suggest you test drive the Tiguan and all other SUVs in your list to experience the drives yourself. All cars will have different power curves where it performs optimally. E.g. Tiguan turbo kicks in at 1500rpm which is actually quite early considering CRV only comes in at 2500rpm. It's really down to what is acceptable to you.
