as long you are fine with the 120,000km / 5th year service cost of having to change the DSG fluids, timing belt and v-belt/tensioner, then it's a pretty sweet choice.

actually I find the new CX-5 to have better road noise insulation than the CR-V, although the CR-V should ride more comfortably.
