I do like the varnish as well, but the top part of the board gotta be black!  (my personal preference)
Do you suggest a PU varnish specifically?
I'm not really good at different types of varnishes.

I'm planning to do a new version of the board, more for FPS play style and also with a more premium finish.
Just have to find the time to sit down with a carpenter with a fresh set of blueprints.
Will definitely suggest to do a dual color, black + varnished wood.

Will update this thread as soon as I got more content.
