For all we know, this is likely only the tip of the iceberg.

There are numerous abuses on housemen in different forms, and the perpetrator is often in position to either threaten the job security of the victims, or discredit the victims by claiming "lack of mental fortitude" or "unable to fit with department culture". It isn't very often that we see a victim willingly risk everything she has in order to expose the ugly truths to the public.

What we need is a better system to provide safe work and training environment for the housemen. This is the first small but important step the grand long-term plan of in improving quality of care in the future.
