E-commerce site Shopee to start charging transaction fees from August

A 1 per cent fee will be applied on all successful transactions by sellers based in Singapore, says a company spokesperson.

is this apply for malaysian as well?

no, for other platforms the take commission from the sales price excluding shipping price.
eg an item selling RM100 and shipping rm5 they get commission from RM100 only, but if u put the price selling RM50 and shipping RM50 then they only get commission from RM50.

2% isn't really that big of a deal and shouldn't affect sales for seasoned/established stores with a loyal clientele.
considering the fact that from my experience, Shopee offerings are atleast around 10% cheaper than the competition, a 2% charge wouldn't be enough to sway customers from jumping ship to other platforms.
