To minus,
-20% for commission
-20% for fuel
-10% for wear and tear
= 50% nett pay (roughly rm 4000 per month)
= roughly 4000/30 = RM 133 per day

32 jobs per day, if 15 minute per job means
= 480 minutes of driving (if wait time about 10%) that means
= 480 x 1.10
= 528 minutes = 8.8 hrs job per day (roughly)

=> meaning RM 133 / 8.8 = Rm 15.11 per hour job

If you can find a part time job that pays RM 15.11/hr don't do grab, actually tuition job can also give you so much.

Driving + waiting for rides for 8.8 hours per day can damage your health badly unless you are thinking of TEMPORARY or PART TIME or if you have NO other better choice.

BTW - uncle drove GRAB for a few months exploring the idea if to have a fleet of GRAB cars and decided not to venture further.

This one need at least 60-70 hrs per week to achieve that gross figure, haven't minus the commission 20%, petrol and maintenance etc.

While the pay is not much, it is possible to make preety good connections driving for GRAB. A friend of mine drove for Grab/Uber for a couple of years before he met with a fellow driver who started hiring him to ferry customers from the airport to Airbnb hostels. He also gave cheap all day private tours of KL and Melaka to the angmohs for extra money.

Fast forward, and that friend of mine has been given the opportunity to buy a few rooms in a KL condo to do the same airbnb business by that initial friend. Now making in excess of RM8k a month without needing to drive as much as Grab. On peak months, easily can hit RM14k a month without driving a lot also.

woww...easily 300km per day...after 1 month car need servicing already...

everyday need to fill up petrol & top up TNG

i took a grab once...myvi car...mid-age guy...he told me he drives 10-12 hours per day, 7 days a week. no break. and with that, RM8k+ gross earning.

again, nett earning should be just RM4k or so...and for that, 7 days week working.

honestly, e-hailing should not be a full time job. supplementing your income, yes. earn when ur free, b4/after work or on weekends, yes. relying on this as full time job and sole income source, definitely no-no.
no drive = no income
take holiday = no income
car broke down/send for service = no income

not to mention, its really bad for health driving 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 31 days a month

yea, it is never a great idea to continuously drive for so many hours and days. I feel "vomit" after drive for 5 hours too.
It should be just leisure or part time job. I do it when I am bored and feel like driving.

It is, but some risk is there. The rooms costs RM2.5k a month in rent and there is the initial capital of RM30k for one room. Both rooms are very close to KLCC, however, so other places might be cheaper.

u go try out as part timer then u will understand whether is it profitable now or not.

Mind u the figure is based on 7 days driving and certain more than 10 hrs per day. And not yet deduct commission, petrol and other car expenses.

To minus,
-20% for commission
-20% for fuel
-10% for wear and tear
= 50% nett pay (roughly rm 4000 per month)
= roughly 4000/30 = RM 133 per day

32 jobs per day, if 15 minute per job means
= 480 minutes of driving (if wait time about 10%) that means
= 480 x 1.10
= 528 minutes = 8.8 hrs job per day (roughly)

=> meaning RM 133 / 8.8 = Rm 15.11 per hour job

If you can find a part time job that pays RM 15.11/hr don't do grab, actually tuition job can also give you so much.

Driving + waiting for rides for 8.8 hours per day can damage your health badly unless you are thinking of TEMPORARY or PART TIME or if you have NO other better choice.

BTW - uncle drove GRAB for a few months exploring the idea if to have a fleet of GRAB cars and decided not to venture further.

depend what car u use.

depend u on or off AA

if normal grabcar/justgrab

with off AA gross 300-350 should be no problem

assume 300 - 20% left 240.

deduct petrol rm60. left rm180

As a part time grab driver, I would say no hard working no gain.

I drive 4 hours per day from 7pm - 11pm, to be honest net income can get around 1.5k. But it really not a easy task, I only have 1 hour to rest and eat after my daily job & before start driving grab. Then morning I need to wake up at 5:30am to send my son go to school & rushing to work at 9am morning.

Some of my friends always ask why you still want to work as grab driver? I would answer them, because it is the faster legal way to get instant cash.

Hear from the driver who are more honest.

Average full time drivers income around 3-4 k per month. Nett of commission, petrol and maintenance. All of us need sometime to rest, spend time attending own/ family matters and car/ drivers have downtime too.

I talked to a Grab driver. He said it is possible for him to make RM 20k per month.
Here is his secret. He is selective about when he operates and targets periods where there is slow supply and where there is high demand, such as Friday prayers, during then the supply drops and it becomes easy money for the likes of him.
