To minus, -20% for commission -20% for fuel -10% for wear and tear = 50% nett pay (roughly rm 4000 per month) = roughly 4000/30 = RM 133 per day 32 jobs per day, if 15 minute per job means = 480 minutes of driving (if wait time about 10%) that means = 480 x 1.10 = 528 minutes = 8.8 hrs job per day (roughly) => meaning RM 133 / 8.8 = Rm 15.11 per hour job If you can find a part time job that pays RM 15.11/hr don't do grab, actually tuition job can also give you so much. Driving + waiting for rides for 8.8 hours per day can damage your health badly unless you are thinking of TEMPORARY or PART TIME or if you have NO other better choice. BTW - uncle drove GRAB for a few months exploring the idea if to have a fleet of GRAB cars and decided not to venture further. babisotong liked this post

While the pay is not much, it is possible to make preety good connections driving for GRAB. A friend of mine drove for Grab/Uber for a couple of years before he met with a fellow driver who started hiring him to ferry customers from the airport to Airbnb hostels. He also gave cheap all day private tours of KL and Melaka to the angmohs for extra money.
Fast forward, and that friend of mine has been given the opportunity to buy a few rooms in a KL condo to do the same airbnb business by that initial friend. Now making in excess of RM8k a month without needing to drive as much as Grab. On peak months, easily can hit RM14k a month without driving a lot also. |

QUOTE(kelvin_87 @ Jul 26 2018, 05:22 AM) woww...easily 300km per day...after 1 month car need servicing already...everyday need to fill up petrol & top up TNG i took a grab once...myvi car...mid-age guy...he told me he drives 10-12 hours per day, 7 days a week. no break. and with that, RM8k+ gross earning. again, nett earning should be just RM4k or so...and for that, 7 days week working. honestly, e-hailing should not be a full time job. supplementing your income, yes. earn when ur free, b4/after work or on weekends, yes. relying on this as full time job and sole income source, definitely no-no. no drive = no income take holiday = no income car broke down/send for service = no income not to mention, its really bad for health driving 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 31 days a month babisotong liked this post

I feel "vomit" after drive for 5 hours too. everyday need to fill up petrol & top up TNG i took a grab once...myvi car...mid-age guy...he told me he drives 10-12 hours per day, 7 days a week. no break. and with that, RM8k+ gross earning. again, nett earning should be just RM4k or so...and for that, 7 days week working. honestly, e-hailing should not be a full time job. supplementing your income, yes. earn when ur free, b4/after work or on weekends, yes. relying on this as full time job and sole income source, definitely no-no. no drive = no income take holiday = no income car broke down/send for service = no income not to mention, its really bad for health driving 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 31 days a month It should be just leisure or part time job. I do it when I am bored and feel like driving. |
