Hello everyone,

I currently own a 2009 J spec Vios. I suspect that there are no airbags installed in the car because when I startup the car there is no airbag light in the cluster and also no indication of the srs airbag logo on the steering wheel. I have a spare steering wheel and quick release from NRG which I previously intended on installing on my Proton Wira which was stolen. I was wondering if anyone managed to install aftermarket steering wheel on their vios and if they had to remove the clock spring and bypass the horn button.

J spec Vios has a driver airbag in the steering wheel.

iinm now min requirement is 1 airbag at steering wheel.

All Vios has at least one driver airbag. And remember to check if your car is included in the Takata airbag recall.

J spec 2009 vios don't have any airbag. i own 1 exact year j spec. after facelift only they add in airbag

I see. Looks like Toyota Malaysia did practice "If you pay more, I'll kill you slower" saying before the Altis and Camry.
