In that case, you should wait for 24 hours to see the amount credited back automatically.. if not the backend office will manually credited...

if above two scenario did not happen.. call BP after 24 hrs lo
*
its already 24 hours, call their number, forever IVR.
like no one is working. bangwall.gif

You can also drop them a message on Facebook, they can check on their system and confirm with you if there are any “floating” topup, if there is it will be consolidated and reflected in your account within 24 hours.

thanks for the tips.
Finally manage to get someone to attend my case, they already got the transaction error message from backend, and will investigate and do a manual transaction (credit back to my account).

if you are sure that there's not much fluctuation in currency exchange rate over this one day, you may have a point and ask what exchange rate was used. hope it's not some extra charges. nevertheless, it's surprising that it's settled so fast, usually take a few days.
*
Yea, i have dropped them an email as well as gave them a call.
Also provided few screenshot of my transaction details.

1. Yesterday pending rate = 3.015 (5th of November)
2. Today Settle rate = 3.035 (6th of November)
3. Yesterday Master Card Rate = 3.012 (5th of November)
4. Today Rate = 3.022 (6th of November)

I realized that 2 days back the Master Card rate was 3.035 as well, perhaps they follow the wrong date Master Card rate.

4. Today Master Card rate = ?

Should use settlement date as comparison.
*
Master Card portal only has the rate until yesterday.
Will check TMR see what's the rate for today.

Hey mate, when you got the mastercard rate of today, kindly update the earlier post to make it easy reference. Thanks.  Hope BP clarifies on this if the fluctuation not in order.
*
Sure, will update once I got the rate see whether if there is something wrong with BP or if they are trully following the correct rate.

I have the latest rate from Master Card Site as per above. So i am assuming that some discrepancy from BP side?
The instruction from BP clearly stated they are following the rate from Master Card Portal: https://www.bigpayme.com/blog/whats-the-exc...-rate-on-bigpay

I realised there is quite a lot of confusion on using BP (or any other credit/debit card) for forex purchases.

Do note the following points :

1) You will almost NEVER get the rate you see on Mastercard's website when you make a purchase. When you make a purchase, that rate is used for authorisation only. The rate that is used for your transaction will be on the transaction settlement date. Even at the fastest, settlement will occur 1 day after your purchase day. It is impossible to "predict" the next day's exchange rate used by Visa/Mastercard for the settlement transaction

2) Visa/Mastercard does not disclose how they exactly set the exchange rates

3) Do not make large value forex transactions on weekends or public holidays (and 1-2 days before these days). The exchange rates are usually not so favourable. If the settlement date falls on a weekend/public holiday, the less favourable exchange rate will be used for computation

4) The bank does not set credit card transaction forex rates. Every night, a file is generated and given to the bank (from Visa/Mastercard). All the values have been computed. The bank simply reads the file and posts the transactions. The bank will add in any of their mark-ups as part of this posting process

Hope this helps.

Check out my latest post. Still the rate not the same as what it was showing on Master Portal for settlement date.

Not sure if it's good to reveal here. But what I can say is, is an insitute in Australia. The ammout that being charged is exactly showing in bigpay without additional fees incurred like 2% or 3 %

Yeah .. tried to top up two times. Keyed in OTP and then ad pop up.. then the value still same, no change at all

I suspect the top already successful, just didn't reflect in BP

Anyone tried using bigpay in guangzhou, china before? what is the credit card acceptance over there? and is it more advisable to exchange cash here or withdraw at the atm there?
*
I am in Guangzhou now, basically majorities of the local retails are not accepting visa or master , only very less merchants accept it. However you may withdraw the money through thier ATM machine and the rate still acceptable, roughly 0.608 to 0.61 + RM10 international withdrawal charges.. and the maximum transaction each time through ATM is only up to 2.5k Yuan. Hope this help.

really having nightmare with BP. Thought of saving few bucks through the currency exchange but end up few k stuck with the transaction.

Story: Bought something from UK, then somehow the merchant cant fulfill the order due to the location is MY and advised that my payment has already automatically drop within 24 hours after the order failed to purchase.

Went to live chat with few BP agents and asked to wait for 7-8 days as the money will refund to my card. After being wait for 8-9 days still dont see the refund, then now the BP agent ask me to fill up the dispute form and have to wait for 60 days for investigation. This is getting really crazy.

Guess i will involve BNM to see how it goes.
